Unconstitutional Republican governors ushering in homosexual 'marriages'

Sacramento, California -- A West Coast pro-family organization has tough truth for pro-family Americans and harsh words for Republican governors who are loyal to unconstitutional judges instead of their state constitutions and the U.S. Constitution, making themselves responsible for ushering in false, homosexual "marriages" as role models for children.

"I never thought I'd see the day when Republican governors ushered in more homosexual "marriages" than Democrat governors," said Randy Thomasson, a veteran family values leader and president of SaveCalifornia.com (Campaign for Children and Families), a leading California-based pro-family organization which promotes moral virtues for the common good. "Our constitutional republic is being ripped apart by judicial traitors and their gubernatorial accomplices."

"Every governor has pledged to 'support and defend' the plain words of their state constitution, including, in morally conservative states, the definition of marriage as only for a man and a woman," Thomasson said. "Governors raise their right hand and publicly promise to 'faithfully execute' or carry out these written laws, as commanded by their state constitutions."

"Each governor also has an administration that serves his or her pleasure that is in charge of the state's marriage forms that county officials use," Thomasson continued. "And each governor is authorized to call out the state's National Guard to enforce written laws and maintain public order. Finally, governors should know that the United States Constitution does not regulate marriage but charges each state with having a constitution and laws based on that specifically-worded constitution."

"To do something unconstitutional, especially when you have the authority and power to do what's constitutional, is to become a traitor and a domestic enemy of the republic," Thomasson said. "None of the Republican governors are supporting and defending the U.S. Constitution or their state constitution as they publicly promised -- instead they're blatantly violating it. Move over, Benedict Arnold, these Republican governors have become traitors extraordinaire, just like Democrat governors who do the same unconstitutional deeds."

"All this is occurring as Americans ignorantly celebrate Independence Day, forgetting what a God-given constitutional republic is, as they casually observe a secure government of laws being replaced by an insecure government of men," Thomasson said. "Yet it's foolish and wrong to think judges write laws, when the Constitution reserves lawmaking for the People and their elected representatives alone."

"Ultimately, it is the failure of national pro-family organizations to hold these 'pro-family,' 'conservative,' 'Republican' governors accountable to their constitutional obligations, statutory duties, and sworn oaths to uphold their state constitutions on marriage," Thomasson said. "In January, I wrote a letter to 25 national pro-family leaders urging them to hold professing 'pro-family' governors accountable, but none of these groups or leaders issued an action alert to produce a flood of phone calls. Consequently, these governors got away with currying favor with pro-family voters by claiming to be defenders of marriage and their state laws -- yet by bowing to the will of federal judges, they've proven themselves hypocrites. This includes Republican governors Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal, and Chris Christie, all of whom want to be president."

"The only Republican presidential candidates who are consistent in word and deed for real marriage between a man and a woman, the foundation of family and society, are Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee," Thomasson noted. "Both have urged governors to reject the Supreme Court's homosexual 'marriage' opinion and both strongly support an amendment to the U.S. Constitution defining and protecting the sacred institution of marriage as only for a man and woman, the way God designed it. For their defense of our constitutional republic, Cruz and Huckabee should be applauded by pro-family citizens nationwide."
