REJOICE that heavy, strategic lobbying in an election year has resulted in a rarity — a bill authorizing nurses to abort children is “dead in committee” after two pro-abortion Democrats refused to vote for it.

Today — Friday, May 4 — the lesbian, pro-abortion Democrat author of SB 1338 has pulled her bill off the committee schedule and will miss the deadline to pass the bill in committee because she couldn’t secure one more vote.

Read the story in the San Diego Union-Tribune

Why did this happen? The two pro-abortion Democrats who voted no on April 26 are Lou Correa of Central Orange County and Juan Vargas of San Diego. Both Democrats seem to want to please pro-life voters with their “latest image” as they run or consider running for new electoral offices. Correa may run for county supervisor and even statewide office. Vargas is running for a congressional seat that extends into the strongly pro-life Imperial County, and is running against a vocal, pro-life Democrat in the primary battle being currently waged.

In any case, this abortion skirmish is more evidence that the reality of children in the womb is becoming more accepted and popular. For now, even some Democrat politicians are fearful of a growing pro-life citizenry.

That said, this horrible bill authorizing nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, and physician assistants to “perform” tortuous, murderous suction abortions of pre-born babies can be brought directly to the Senate floor if the Democrat leader, Darrell Steinberg, really wants to.

In my 18 years of public leadership for moral standards and family values, I have tried to be faithful to God’s non-negotiable values and His Truth. For throughout His Word, God only blesses obedient people.

Now that the contest for the Republican presidential nomination is a three-man race, I want to keep standing for God’s truth, despite any temptation to do otherwise.

Nine years ago, California went through a historic gubernatorial recall election. Yet because conservatives went with image over good public policies, they chose liberal Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger over conservative Republican Tom McClintock. As a result, bad policies were not reversed and bad bills were signed into law. Do you want to see history repeat?

If you have strong moral values and a sense of history, I invite you to stand for Truth with us at SaveCalifornia.com and our national arm, SaveAmerica.com. We have no horse in this race, but are working hard to get the truth about the public-policy records of the Republican presidential candidates to as many people as possible. The facts are found in our Report Card on the Natural Family, which documents the candidates’ records on 10 public-policy issues affecting families.

Truly, a candidate’s actual votes and public actions, along with his repeated, consistent, specific spoken positions, demonstrate where he really stands on public-policy issues regarding the natural family. Don’t disagree with the evidence before seeing the Report Card on the Natural Family documentation and source links here, in alphabetical order:

See the evidence for MITT ROMNEY »

Thank you for standing with us for God’s non-negotiable Truth. For the sake of our land, please forward the evidence of our Report Card on the Natural Family to all your friends.

SaveCalifornia.com and our national arm, SaveAmerica.com, provides the following
solely for educational purposes and does not support or oppose candidates for public office.

I was concerned earlier this year when Mitt Romney beat Newt Gingrich in Florida. No, it wasn’t because Romney got first place and Gingrich came in second. It was because so-called conservatives were hypocrites about their “conservative” values.

In the January 31 Florida exit poll of 2,835 Republicans who had just voted, 33% of the respondents identified themselves as “very conservative” and an additional 36% identified as “somewhat conservative.” Yet only 14% said the most important candidate quality is that he is a “true conservative.” Do the math — only 1 of 5 self-proclaimed conservatives prioritized voting conservative!

And I’m concerned about another thing. Some self-proclaimed moral conservatives don’t like our evidence-based Report Card on the Natural Family because they are either already loyal to a candidate or don’t apparently have moral standards for public policies when they vote.

Let me challenge the naysayers with the words of Jesus Christ, who, in Mark 7, described a list of sins, including “pride/arrogance” and “foolishness”:

And He was saying, “That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.” (Mark 7:20-23 NASB)

Note how Jesus listed pride (or arrogance) and foolishness as sins, not mistakes. How are these sinful behaviors expressed in our lives?

Arrogance is claiming you know something you don’t, or saying someone doesn’t know what they do.

Foolishness is just the opposite, claiming you don’t know something when you should know better.

I have been arrogant at times and foolish more times. And for that, I need to confess, repent, and ask forgiveness from God in Jesus’ name. How about you?

But please, don’t be prideful or arrogant – or foolish — in this year’s presidential race.

Don’t think you know how the candidate stands on moral and family values without first seeing our unbiased and documented Report Card on the Natural Family.

And don’t be foolish by claiming you didn’t know or didn’t have the time to know. Voting in the dark is like swinging a sword in a dark room full of people. Someone’s going to get hurt. That’s why a principled Christian and former California assemblyman is glad we’re turning on the light:

“Randy Thomasson and his organizations SaveCalifornia.com and SaveAmerica.com are doing everyone in the nation a Godly service by providing the unadulterated and clear and documented evidence of the actual public policy positions of the Republican candidates on family values,” said Steve Baldwin, former California state assemblyman (1994-2000) and former executive director of the Council on National Policy (2001-2009).

“While not all candidates tell the truth, the Report Card on the Natural Family certainly does. Randy and his team are helping many people discern between truth and lies, between facts and hearsay on where the candidates really stand on these important issues for the future of our culture.”

TAKE ACTION: Please make humility and wisdom a priority for America’s sake. See and share our presidential Report Card on the Natural Family.

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

So far this year, today is when the most people are choosing the Republican nominee for President.

It’s “Super Tuesday” today in the presidential primary/caucus states of Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and Wyoming. But more than watching the news, have you been watching and discerning which Republican candidate stands for your values?

For the last month and a half, SaveCalifornia.com and our national arm SaveAmerica.com have been firing on all cylinders to tell people the truth of where Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum really stand on 10 moral/family issues in our Report Card on the Natural Family.

Our evidence-based Report Card on the Natural Family has already been seen by hundreds of thousands of conservatives in early primary states. Please inform your friends and don’t let them vote without knowledge. Send our Report Card to your entire list of contacts via email and social networking.

When you think about it, actions truly mean more than words. The consistent records of the candidates mean the most and are the likeliest predictors of what any of them would do as president.

Consider Arnold Schwarzenegger, who, during the 2003 California gubernatorial recall election, said “I think that…marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman.” Yet he supported homosexual adoptions and awarding marital rights to homosexual couples. As Governor, he and his wife both had homosexual chiefs of staff. So was it any surprise that, in his second term, Schwarzenegger opening championed homosexual “marriage” and refused to defend Proposition 8? Again, actions over time mean more than words from the campaign trail.

See and share the Report Card on the Natural Family

> Summary of candidates’ real public-policy positions

SaveCalifornia.com and our national arm, SaveAmerica.com, provides this information solely for educational purposes.

While the true origin of St. Valentine’s Day is unknown or suspect, I’d like to apply a Christian principle from it that Jesus would love: Energize your marriage with His sacrificial love this week.

The only sexual relationship allowed by Jesus is marriage between a man and a woman, because Jesus spoke against having sexual pleasure and sexual activity outside of marriage:

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” (Matthew 5:27-29 NKJV)

And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” (Mark 7:20-23 NKJV)

Yet while naming these sexual sins, Jesus wholeheartedly celebrated the creation and beauty and purpose of marriage between one man and one woman. This was demonstrated by His first public miracle, at a wedding, where He changed water into wine. Then, in Matthew 19, Jesus powerfully defined marriage, parenthood, and family, and warned against divorce, all in one answer:

The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?” And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Matthew 19:7-9 NKJV)

Therefore, I urge you to use this week to invigorate your marriage with loving words and actions. You can stand up for marriage between a man and a woman in society, but liberals are right to accuse of hypocrisy if you don’t stand against divorce too. For Jesus hated divorce because He loved marriage. This week, celebrate your marriage and the marriage of others in a way that pleases the Savior. By doing so, you’ll help make marriage between a man and a woman more attractive to young people.

Jesus has given husbands and wives “batteries” to energize their marriage. Will you “tap into” His power?

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NKJV

So, in the presidential race between Republican candidates vying to become the party’s nominee, SaveCalifornia.com and our national arm, SaveAmerica.com, have done the best that we could. We carefully researched the records and actions of the candidates and provided The Report Card on the Natural Family to help voters everywhere.

Our unique and objective report card shows the presidential candidates’ real stands on 10 public policies related to family values and moral standards. It’s posted here at SaveCalifornia.com and here at SaveAmerica.com.

> See documentation and sources: Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum

Educating voters in South Carolina

On January 15 and 16, we faxed and emailed our Report Card on the candidates to around 10,000 pastors in the early voting states of South Carolina, Florida, Nevada, Maine, Colorado, and Minnesota.

On January 19, we emailed our Report Card to 275,000 conservative business folks in South Carolina. That same day, American Family Association emailed and messaged our Report Card on the Natural Family to around 500,000 conservatives in South Carolina.

> Help SaveCalifornia.com send our Report Card to more people in early voting states

A top Christian-values news site, OneNewsNow.com, saw the significance of our report card and did two stories introducing it to people in every state. Here’s the Jan. 20 story:

Get the facts
A Christian leader in California is calling voters to awaken to the facts of how the Republican presidential candidates stand on family values.

Leading up to the South Carolina primary on Saturday, Newt Gingrich asked his opponents Rick Santorum and Rick Perry to drop out of the race, arguing that he is the only conservative who can beat Mitt Romney. On Thursday morning, Perry did just that, throwing his support behind the former House speaker.

Randy Thomasson of SaveAmerica.com believes Gingrich is spot on. “He’s correct that if there is a leading moderate in a campaign in a largely conservative state and three conservatives are splitting the conservative voters apart, the moderate could win,” he says, referring to Mitt Romney as “the moderate.”

Citing the history of the past three decades, Thomasson notes that the Republican candidate who wins the South Carolina primary has ended up being the Republican nominee for president — so he is urging voters to know how the candidates stand on moral issues.

“Of the … Republicans still in the race, Romney is far and above the most against the ten family values and moral standards in the report card on the natural family,” says the family advocate. “He’s supportive of homosexuals adopting children, open homosexuality in the Boy Scouts and in the U.S. military, and … continues to support pro-LGBT education.”

Thomasson asserts that Republican hopeful Ron Paul is a “mixed bag” of family values, who does not oppose homosexual relationships and wants to eliminate official marriage licenses. Gingrich and Santorum are relatively equal on family values, Thomasson says, and are strong supporters of the natural family.

The pro-family leader asserts the facts were against Governor Rick Perry. “[He] would have been right up there with Gingrich and Santorum if he had not signed a homosexual, bisexual, transsexual ‘hate crimes’ law in 2001; and … had pledged to enforce federal laws against obscenity like the other two had.”

See the Report Card on the Natural Family at SaveCalifornia.com and SaveAmerica.com.

Have you heard about abortionist Steven Chase Brigham? Last summer, Brigham — who “operates” in four states, including Maryland, and who has killed hundreds of preborn babies in the womb, most of them late-term — was charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of five viable, healthy babies. These were “botched” abortions where the baby still lived. And Maryland’s “viable fetus” law means that when these babies survived outside the womb, Brigham committed infanticide.

Remind yourself of babies in the womb by seeing these amazing photos

As LifeNews.com reported on January 11 this year:

Brigham operated a secret late-term abortion clinic in Elkton, Maryland, even though he had no license to practice in that state. He hired Riley to do late-term abortions there and at his abortion clinic in Baltimore. Brigham would start the late-term abortions at his office in New Jersey, then caravan the laboring women to Elkton where the abortions would be completed. The clandestine abortion scheme was discovered after a woman suffered a life-threatening botched abortion in August, 2010. When police raided the Elkton abortion clinic, they discovered the remains of 35 aborted babies, one of which was 33 weeks gestation.

OR president Troy Newman provided more details about what was found. “Violations found during an inspection that took place on May 26, 2011, discovered out-of-date medicine, metal instruments with a brown material in the hinges and inside the supposedly sterile packaging, surgical instruments tossed in unsterilized drawers, and surgical instruments stored in a ‘musty’ smelling suitcase in broken wrappers – all of which were considered by employees to be ready for use on patients,” Newman said. “Also discovered was a freezer where ‘Infectious Waste,’ (the remains of aborted babies), was stored that was smeared with what an employee acknowledged was blood and contained a thick layer of frozen blood in the bottom.”

Don’t look away. For, as evil and gruesome as this “Dr. Death” is, the decision to kill their babies by abortion was first made by pregnant women and teenage girls. They believed the death of a little baby was acceptable and preferable.

What if you were that baby? Wouldn’t you want your mother to change her mind? What if you were being threatened in your home by a dangerous criminal waving scissors at you? Wouldn’t you want the police to burst in and save your life?

This is the desperate sense of urgency you and all people with intact consciences must have. Realize that nearly 58 million babies in America have been killed by abortion since the Roe v. Wade ruling on January 22, 1973. That’s 1 of 6 Americans and 1 of 3 young people born since this unconstitutional edict. All dead through the torture of abortion.

This is truly a matter of life and death, for babies are being aborted every day. They all have a beating heart, brain waves, developing organs, and can feel great pain like you can.

This is why you must get uncomfortable, cancel your other plans if possible, and challenge yourself to spend some time this week to love defenseless, voiceless babies. Love is a choice. Love is an action.

Be their Voice. Be their Defender. Be the Conscience of our land. Stand up today and Saturday. March in San Francisco or participate in a pro-life event near you:

He who keeps your soul, does He not know it?
And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

Liberal newspapers like the San Francisco Chronicle are serving as mouthpieces for Governor Jerry Brown, the Democrat politicians, and the government union bosses. Together, they’re claiming only “two choices” in solving California’s state budget mess (created by Democrat state legislators, who have controlled the State Legislature for more than 40 years now).

Writes the Chronicle, “Gov. Jerry Brown’s budget plan released last week poses a stark choice for Californians: approve a five-year $35 billion tax increase in November or watch the hatchet drop on public school funding - with cuts so deep the school year could be shortened by almost a month.”

But no, there aren’t just two choices. The third way to solve the chronic state budget mess is to eliminate TENS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN ANNUAL WASTE, as outlined in SaveCalifornia.com’s Waste Report.

Remember, most of the time, a “temporary tax” isn’t temporary. People get used to it, the bureaucracy says they will always need it, and liberal politicians say they will hurt you with service cuts unless you extend the tax.

And a higher tax bite upon the wealthy means they, as the most mobile of all Americans, can easily move just across the border to Nevada or Arizona, leaving the State of California with less revenue than before.

Finally, “taxing the rich” means punishing job creators. This is exactly opposite of what our Founding Fathers wanted, and means socialism further tramples free enterprise and government dependency replaces the work ethic.

So you see, there is no “need” to raise taxes in California, which would do more harm to family finances, job creation and sustaining, and the economy as a whole.

ACTION: Please plan to vote NO on Jerry Brown’s tax hikes, should he gather enough signatures to qualify his initiative for the November ballot. But right now, use our 2-page printable report to inform your friends and neighbors that TENS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN ANNUAL WASTE should be eliminated instead.

When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples,
“Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”
