November 23, 2009 -- For Immediate Release

Response to nomination of Abel Maldonado for Lt. Governor
Thomasson: "Only good thing is Maldonado won't get to vote against family values any time soon."

Sacramento, California -- Tax-hike Republican and Harvey Milk Gay Day supporter Abel Maldonado has been selected by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to fill the empty Lt. Governor seat, vacated when liberal Democrat John Garamendi was elected to Congress.

Schwarzenegger, who made the announcement today during a taping of the Jay Leno Show in Burbank, said Maldonado, a state senator from California's Central Coast, was a "true partner" in pushing the governor's agenda.

If confirmed by both houses of the California Legislature, Maldonado will get to have "Lieutenant Governor" under his name if he runs for statewide office in the future.

"The only good thing about this is that, if confirmed, Abel Maldonado won't get to vote against family values anytime soon because the Lt. Governor job has virtually no power," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which led the recent statewide battle against Harvey Milk Gay Day, which further sexually indoctrinates children in K-12 government schools. "Still another good thing is that a special election to fill Maldonado's empty state Senate seat can be won by a more authentic, pro-family candidate than Maldonado ever was."
