Parents Urged to Keep Kids Home This Friday
"Day of Silence" Walkout protests "LGBT" indoctrination in government schools

Sacramento, California -- SaveCalifornia.com is calling on California parents who oppose the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination of their children to pull their kids out of public school Friday in protest.

The April 17 walkout is in protest of the so-called "Day of Silence," where sexually-confused students and politically-liberal teachers disrupt valuable classroom time and draw attention to themselves by refusing to speak all day.

"The Day of Silence hijacking of public schools this Friday sends the false message to impressionable children that believing homosexuality is immoral constitutes bullying," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, a leading West Coast family-values organization. "Good parents who are in the know, who will do anything to protect their sons and daughters from sexual exploitation, are removing their children from public school on Friday."

On "Day of Silence," sexually-confused students disrupt class time by refusing to speak; some put tape over their mouths; some teachers also remain silent, refusing to teach effectively, during instructional time. The academic purpose of the day is ruined. The school's agenda is politicized. Parents' traditional values are implicitly ridiculed.  The student body is sent the message that homosexuality is natural, when it's not.

Despite claims of "Day of Silence" advocates, numerous laws in the Education Code and Penal Code in California and other states prevent and penalize violence and bullying on campus.

The problem of public schools becoming centers of sexual indoctrination was exacerbated Tuesday when an official "gay day" honoring homosexual activist Harvey Milk passed a Democrat-controlled committee of the California State Senate. SB 572 would pressure all public schools in California to hold "suitable commemorative exercises" promoting what Milk believed in: the entire homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual agenda and anti-family, anti-religious values.

In addition, nearly three dozen Democrats in the U.S. Congress have introduced a resolution urging the federal government and public schools to officially recognize and celebrate Day of Silence. The legislation also requests that "the President issue a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe the National Day of Silence with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities."

"We're calling on every parent who loves their child to boycott the public schools this Friday," said Thomasson. "Parents need to send a strong message that sexual indoctrination of children is unacceptable. And every concerned citizen should tell their federal representatives to oppose House Concurrent Resolution 92, which would put Congress on record as endorsing the disruptive 'Day of Silence' at every public school in America."

FACTS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY IN CALIFORNIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Many large school districts, controlled by pro-LGBT unions, are allowing "Day of Silence": Unfortunately, there is nothing in California law that prevents liberal, pro-homosexuality school districts from allowing "Day of Silence," "Day of Diversity," or other "LGBT" events on campus.

Because of new California laws, more school districts are being pressured to allow "Day of Silence": SB 777 and AB 394 from 2008, and AB 537 from 2000, are laws being used to intimidate school districts into allowing "Day of Silence." SB 777 indirectly requires all public schools to positively portray homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality to children as young as kindergarten. www.RescueYourChild.org

Current legislation would create an official "Gay Day" in California public schools: SB 572 would pressure public schools -- from kindergarten on up -- to perform "suitable commemorative exercises" promoting what homosexual activist Harvey Milk believed in: the entire homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual agenda against marriage, religious freedom, and parental rights.

There are plenty of laws against violence and bullying on campus: Despite claims of "Day of Silence" advocates, numerous laws in the Education Code and Penal Code prevent and penalize violence and bullying on campus.

Sexual indoctrination is motivating more parents to permanently pull their children from public schools: In the aftermath of offensive new California laws, more parents are turning to homeschooling and church-based schools to protect and nurture their children. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59033

FACTS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY

It's physically unhealthy: The California Office of AIDS reports that as high as 88% of HIV infections are the result of homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality (77% "men who have sex with men"; 8% "men who have sex with men and inject drugs"; 3% "heterosexual contact" (mostly women being infected by bisexual men) http://www.cdph.ca.gov/programs/aids/Documents/HIVAIDSMergedJan09.pdf

It's emotionally unhealthy: Several recent studies have found that homosexuals have much higher rates of suicide, depression, bulimia, antisocial personality disorder, and substance abuse than heterosexuals ("Homosexuality and mental health problems," NARTH, Sept. 3, 2008 http://www.narth.com/docs/whitehead.html)

It's not biologically determined: The so-called "gay gene" has never been found. ("No easy link between genes, behavior," San Francisco Chronicle, Feb. 13, 2001 http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2001/02/13/MN87077.DTL). Hundreds of thousands of individuals have left homosexuality behind and are now married to an opposite-sex spouse and have a family. http://exodus.to/content/view/293/37/

It may result in greater same-sex experimentation and gender-identity issues in children: In 2001, USC researchers Judith Stacey and Timothy Biblarz found that children raised by homosexuals are more like to experiment with homosexual behavior themselves, girls raised by lesbians are more sexually aggressive, and boys raised by lesbians have less masculine social behavior. ("Homosexual parenting studies are flawed, report says," FoxNews.com, July 18, 2001 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,29901,00.html)

"Parents must actively oppose the hijacking of school classrooms for political purposes," said Laurie Higgins, national spokeswoman for the Day of Silence Walkout. "The Day of Silence participants exploit the instructional time of every student in every class for an entire day in the service of their unproven philosophical beliefs and partisan political purposes. Their silence, and in some cases, the silence of their teachers, transform the activities of the day against the best interests of parents and impressionable children."
