MarijuanaHarmsFamilies.com releases gripping 85-second video message to wake up Californians

Sacramento, California -- As Californians wrestle over marijuana legalization and its consequences for individuals, families, and society, SaveCalifornia.com, a leading pro-family, pro-child organization, is leading an educational effort to help people understand the harmful effects of marijuana and why the legalization of pot is a bad idea.

A new website from SaveCalifornia.com called MarijuanaHarmsFamilies.com impresses viewers with a gripping 85-second video that jars their senses, wakes them up to key facts about marijuana, and shows what full-blown pot legalization in California could look like.

“People deserve to know the facts about what full-blown marijuana legalization could usher in. This video message is a powerful wake-up call that can’t be ignored,” said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com.

“Today’s pot is more potent and mind-altering, and teens are already getting addicted," he said. "Marijuana is a gateway drug to cocaine and meth. Adolescents and young adults who smoke it are especially at risk of damaging their lungs and brains, and ruining their lives.”

Thomasson continued, “If marijuana is fully legalized, Californians will likely pay higher health and auto insurance premiums because of increased addictions, accidents, and drug treatment. Teen addictions will skyrocket. We’ll see more ‘drugged driving’ on streets and freeways. There’ll be a new ‘right’ to get high on marijuana at work, even in transportation jobs. Cities and counties can OK selling pot in grocery stores and mini-marts, and permit marijuana operatives to buy thousands of acres of farmland.”

[Thomasson’s statements are documented under the video at MarijuanaHarmsFamilies.com.]

“Concerned Californians should visit MarijuanaHarmsFamilies.com to learn more, to request a free 'Don't let California go to pot' bumper sticker, and to inform others about the negative impact that all-out marijuana legalization would have upon our children, our families, our communities, and our culture,” Thomasson said. “This is a very important issue people must settle in their minds before it’s too late.”
