If you consider how bad government has gotten in this generation, you quickly realize that "public" schools have been integrity-challenged and education-challenged for a long time.

Ask yourself: What kind of soul are you shaping in your child, several hours per day, Monday through Friday? As the parent, you are responsible for teaching your child. And if you delegate that authority to others for most of your child's growing up years, you must ensure a proper substitute.
In all my years in working around state government, I've seen plenty of bad laws dumbing down kids and squashing parental rights in the state school system. In California, there are currently 10 sexual indoctrination laws on the books for school children, most of them pushing the "LGBT" lifestyle as good and natural and something to be embraced. I've seen the union domination of so-called "public schools" that no longer serve the public.
The lack of competition for parents' education tax dollars, the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda, the abortion/condom agenda, the mandatory evolution agenda, and much more that would assault the conscience of the average parent has cause the government schools to be unsafe for children mentally, spiritually, and even physically.
Don't fool yourself to think that most schools and colleges are good. They're not.
Most government-run and many private halls of education are run by an anti-God establishment, liberal professors, teachers and administrators. That's why I can only recommend home schooling and solid church-based schools for children, and strong Christian-based colleges and online colleges for young adults.
As Protestant Reformation leader Martin Luther said, "I am afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them in the heart of the youth."
