Reaching millions with the truth about the new "Harvey Milk Gay Day" law

When "Harvey Milk Gay Day" for children in public schools was signed Oct. 11 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, the media flooded SaveCalifornia.com for our response. Despite the media not adequately informing people about the bill earlier in the legislative session, SaveCalifornia.com reached millions of parents and grandparents with the truth Oct. 12 - 21 in the midst of this terrible bill becoming law:

Groups react to Harvey Milk and gay marriage recognition bills
Randy Thomasson, president of the conservative coalition Save California released a statement characterizing Milk as a "public liar" and sexual predator who was in "no way a good role model for impressionable schoolchildren." Thomasson slammed the move to commemorate Harvey Milk Day at California schools as "more in-your-face, homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination" for public schoolchildren. Thomasson also voiced concerns about the type of activities that could constitute commemorative activities aimed at teaching about Milk's life.

REGIONAL: GOVERNOR SIGNS HARVEY MILK DAY BILL
The group SaveCalifornia.com, which opposed the bill, claimed in a statement released today that it is "appalled" that the governor signed the legislation. "Sadly, children in public schools will now have even more in-your-face, homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination," the group's president Randy Thomasson said in a statement. "This provides the strongest impetus yet for loving parents to remove their children from anti-family public schools."

Schwarzenegger inks pro-gay bills
Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which led the opposition to Harvey Milk Day, called Mr. Milk a "sexual predator," saying that he preferred relationships with teenagers and advocated having more than one relationship at a time, according to his biography, "The Mayor of Castro Street" by Randy Shilts. "Sadly, children in public schools will now have even more in-your-face, homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination," said Mr. Thomasson, who said schools may be encouraged to hold gay-pride parades to mark the day. "This provides the strongest impetus yet for loving parents to remove their children from anti-family public schools."

California gives Milk his day as governor signs 478 bills
Opponents contend that Milk had numerous character flaws and that his annual day of recognition is a step toward presenting children with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender "indoctrination" despite opposition from many parents. "Harvey Milk Day teaches children as young as 5 years old to admire the life and values (of homosexuals) and the notorious homosexual activist Harvey Milk," said Randy Thomasson of SaveCalifornia.com.

Flip-flopper governor signs 'Harvey Milk' bill
Randy Thomasson of SaveCalifornia.com tells OneNewsNow that in light of the governor's signature on SB 572, schools in The Golden State are now a source for homosexual indoctrination. "Now children are going to be taught to admire the homosexual activist, his entire homosexual/bisexual agenda -- even a cross-dressing agenda," he asserts. Previously, Schwarzenegger previously had vetoed a bill authorizing Harvey Milk Day bill. But Thomasson says the governor's record helps explain why he signed it this time. "He signed a bill recognizing out-of-state homosexual 'marriages' -- a clear violation of Proposition 8," says the family advocate, referring to the voter-approved constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage. "[So] it's no surprise [that] if he flip-flops on marriage, that he flip-flops on saying one year the Harvey Milk Gay Day should be vetoed and the next year signing it into law." According to Thomasson, calls to the governor were 4-to-1 against signing the bill -- and he now encourages people to call again and voice their disapproval. He also strongly suggests it is time for parents to make other educational arrangements for their children, noting that RescueYourChild.org explains how to do that.

Assemblyman V. Manuel Pérez, D-Coachella, also was pleased. “I am pleasantly surprised by the governor's signatures of these two bills. I'm glad he recognizes their significance.” Opponents disagreed. “Sadly, children in public schools will have even more in-your-face, homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination,” said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com. “This provides the strong impetus yet for loving parents to remove their children from anti-family public schools.”

Calif. conservatives 'disappointed' with new Harvey Milk Day
Pro-family groups raised concern that children as young as five years old will be exposed to the controversial subject of sexual orientation in public school classrooms. West Coast pro-family group SaveCalifornia.com used stronger language to denounce the legislation. Noting that the new law teaches children to "admire" the life and values of the homosexual activist, Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, warned, “The ‘suitable commemorative exercises’ that are part of ‘Harvey Milk Day’ can easily result in cross-dressing exercises, ‘LGBT pride’ parades and mock gay weddings on school campuses – everything Harvey Milk supported.”

Calif. students to learn about gay pioneer
Randy Thomasson, an opponent of the law and the president of SaveCalifornia.com, had said Milk's sexual escapades made him unfit to be pushed as a role model. Thomasson's press release quoted from "The Mayor of Castro Street," a popular biography about Milk. Milk was 48 when he died but always had a desire for teen boys and men in their early 20s, the book says. He also advocated having multiple partners, it says.

Will Harvey Milk be recognized locally?
Some, however, have voiced concerns about the type of activities that could constitute commemorative activities aimed at teaching about Milk's life. Schools put on notice: Mass boycott of Harvey Milk Day
SaveCalifornia President Randy Thomasson is warning parents to keep their sons and daughters home. His group has launched a boycott, urging parents to pull their children out of school for a day, a week or even all year if they can. "Fathers and mothers are angry about Harvey Milk Day pushing this extreme, perverse role model upon their kids," Thomasson said. "Children belong to parents, not to the state! Since SB 572 has no opt-out, boycotting Harvey Milk Day and pulling their children out of the imploding government school system is the only way for parents to protect their girls and boys." "No child is safe from the sky-is-the-limit sexual indoctrination if they are left in the government school system," Thomasson said today. "They'll be hit with Harvey Milk Day in May, endure the pro-'LGBT' 'Day of Silence' in April, and, due to pre-existing sexual indoctrination laws, be pressured to support anything-goes heterosexual-homosexual-bisexual-transsexual behavior in health, literature, and social studies." He added, "This is a red alert for parents. Your child will be sexually indoctrinated if left in the government-school system. Parents are waking up to the fact that to protect their kids from being sexually brainwashed, they must not only keep them home on Harvey Milk Day, but they must rescue their children by placing them in homeschooling or a solid church school."

Boycott of Calif. schools in the making
SaveCalifornia.com has launched a new drive to protest a pro-homosexual bill recently signed into law. Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, tells OneNewsNow he is calling for a boycott over a law designed to force students to honor a deceased homosexual activist.
"With Harvey Milk Gay Day now the law for California government schools, and a handful of sexual indoctrination laws already existing that are in effect throughout the entire school year, parents have to at least boycott Harvey Milk Day or days or week," Thomasson urges. The boycott, he says, needs to be established by parents to protect their children, but also to drive home a point that they do not want their children indoctrinated with a pro-homosexual philosophy. Thomasson feels that taking students out of the government school system is the only way to accomplish this protection.
