IN THE MEDIA 5/21/09: Victory for California taxpayers

On May 21, news outlets reported SaveCalifornia.com's pro-family perspective on the just-concluded statewide special election, where California families rejected higher taxes, more debt, more borrowing and false reforms from Governor Schwarzenegger and the Legislature:

Californians 'just vote no' against tax hikes: “California families are sick and tired of foolish spending from our elected officials,” Randy Thomasson, president of the pro-family organization called SaveCalifornia.com, said in a statement. “It’s time to cut the fat, not the essential services.”
 
“There are tens of billions of dollars that can be saved each year by eliminating duplicative, inefficient, unethical, and wasteful spending,” he said. “It’s time to eliminate the disgusting waste that’s choking our state government’s effectiveness and efficiency.”

Voters rebuke politicians, reduce taxes in California: Randy Thomasson is president of the Campaign for Children and Families. "California voters now have the fourth highest tax burden of any state," he points out. "They want the taxes to go away as fast as possible, so they have used their power at the ballot box to say don't raise taxes and fees on us ever again."

Tim Herdt: It's about the economy: An outfit called SaveCalifornia.com, which advocates a pro-family agenda as seen by religious conservatives, laid out a list of things the state shouldn’t do to balance its budget. “Don’t you dare release criminals from prisons and jails into our communities,” said its president, Randy Thomasson.
