1/16/15: Pro-family response to SCOTUS taking 4 marriage cases

SAVECALIFORNIA.COM NEWS RELEASE

Real marriage advocates hope states' rights on marriage will be honored
Thomasson: "The U.S. Supreme Court should rein in the lower-court judicial activists and rule that marriage is a state jurisdiction under a state constitution and the People who put it there."

Sacramento, California -- In light of the United State Supreme Court agreeing to take up appeals from four states that have constitutions reserving marriage for only a man and a woman, longtime marriage defender Randy Thomasson of SaveCalifornia.com has issued the following statement:

"This is good news for the majority of voters, who know scientifically and naturally that a man and a woman were designed for each other, and that this God-ordained man-woman union has been called marriage from time immemorial," said Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which promotes moral virtues for the common good.

"With bad judges pushing their own agendas and attacking voters -- as well as attacking our republic and the democratic process -- it's essential that the nation's high court be the responsible adult in the room. The U.S. Supreme Court should rein in the lower-court judicial activists and rule that marriage is a state jurisdiction, under a state constitution and the People who put it there."

"Given that Anthony Kennedy regarded California's Prop. 8 as a matter of states' rights, and that John Roberts has questioned whether homosexuals have political powerlessness, a required characteristic under the 1964 Civil Rights Act, I'm hopeful that the Supreme Court will uphold states' rights on marriage and resist the errors of lower-court judges who mistakenly equated changeable sexual behavior with unchangeable race and ethnicity. Upholding states' rights on marriage would also restore Proposition 8, which naturally defined marriage as only for a man and a woman, and was passed by California voters in 2008."
