Religious Californians relieved that Governor Brown has vetoed AB 569

Thomasson: "Religious freedom is protected by the First Amendment and government must keep its hands off."

Sacramento, California (October 16, 2017) -- Veteran California pro-family leader Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which promotes moral virtues for the common good, has issued the following statement regarding Governor Jerry Brown's veto of AB 569, which would have forced pro-abortion policies upon church schools and other religious entities:

"Churches, church schools, religious hospitals, and religious entities statewide are relieved that Governor Brown has vetoed AB 569, an unconstitutional bill that brashly violated the author's own maxim of 'separation of church and state.' Every elected official needs to get this message loud and clear -- religious freedom is protected by the First Amendment and government must keep its hands off. Religious persons, including religious business owners, have a God-given right to exercise their own moral policies on their own property. That's what the First Amendment's 'free exercise' of religion clause means -- the State must accommodate religion, not religion accommodate the State."
