Democrat Governor Jerry Brown vetoes controversial bill requiring UC and CSU to distribute chemical abortion drugs

Thomasson: "A relief for California taxpayers who don't want more blood on their hands"

Sacramento, California -- On his final day of bill signing in his final year as governor, Democrat Governor Jerry Brown has vetoed a controversial bill that would have forced University of California campuses and California State University campuses to distribute chemical abortion drugs to female students at on-campus student health centers.

Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which since 1999 has advocated for the best interests of children and families, and which opposed SB 320 this year, has issued the following statement:

"It's great news for young women and their pre-born babies that Jerry Brown has vetoed SB 320. The welcome demise of this deadly bill requiring distribution of chemical abortion drugs on UC and CSU campuses is not only a relief for campus administrators, but for California taxpayers who don't want more blood on their hands. Drugs that cause abortions have severe side effects and can also cause life-threatening complications. With chemical abortions, women always suffer and babies always perish."
