9/18/18: California law now promotes secret murders

SAVECALIFORNIA.COM NEWS RELEASE

California law now promotes secret murders
Thomasson: "This is a green light for a bad doctor, bad nurse, or bad family member to pressure you to die."

Sacramento, California -- Murdering someone in secret will be easier now that California Governor Jerry Brown has signed a bill exempting from prosecution certain acts of pressuring someone to commit suicide.

AB 282 says it's no longer a crime when someone "deliberately aids, advises, or encourages another to commit suicide" if done in compliance with the End of Life Option Act. The bill comes on the heels of a 2015 law (ABX2-15), which permitted physicians to prescribe a legal drug to so-called "terminally ill" patients who request it.

"Californians sent home to die by establishment doctors who gave them drugs, and didn't tell them about natural medicine that could heal them, now need to be afraid of family members who might pressure them to die and get out of the way," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, representing children and families in California since 1999.

Signed by Gov. Brown without comment on Sept. 5, AB 282 removes all legal hesitation from someone -- a doctor, a nurse, a family member -- who wants you to commit suicide. Exempting all suicide pressure from the California Penal Code, AB 282 says no one can be prosecuted for "aiding, advising, or encouraging" physician-assisted suicide.

"This is a green light for a bad doctor, bad nurse, or bad family member to pressure you to die," Thomasson warned. "No police, district attorney, or judge will know what went on in the final moments, and even if they did, they'll have to look the other way. More than the 2015 law, AB 282 sets up the 'perfect crime.' Someone who could financially benefit from your death can actually 'help you' sign an order prescribing suicide pills, and then pressure you to swallow the pills when no one else is around. This sets up murder for profit. Self-administration of the lethal dose of drugs is not guaranteed, which opens the door to euthanasia."

"This pro-death bill sends an unmistakable message to teenagers and young adults that if you're depressed, suicide is the 'answer,' Thomasson said. "With the Democrat politicians in control of the State Legislature, California has flipped from an anti-suicide policy to a pro-suicide policy. Unless struck down as unconstitutional, as it should be, California will continue to be the 'Suicide State.'"

SaveCalifornia.com wishes the State of California would promote life-saving natural medicine as the cure to chronic diseases, including cancer. "Instead of pressuring depressed people to commit suicide, sick Californians should be directed to natural medicine websites such as CancerTutor.com for real hope that they can keep living and loving," Thomasson said.

8/31/18: Statement on AB 2943 being dropped

SAVECALIFORNIA.COM NEWS RELEASE

Statement on AB 2943 being dropped
Thomasson: "Californians who love liberty are thrilled that this dangerous, unfair, and unconstitutional bill has been dropped."

Sacramento, California -- Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which has been serving California families since 1999, including fighting against the tyrannical agenda of AB 2943 this year, has issued the following statement about the bill's welcome demise:

"Californians who love liberty are thrilled that this dangerous, unfair, and unconstitutional bill has been dropped. We thank every patriotic citizen who took action to oppose AB 2943, an un-American bill that should never have been introduced.

"As Mr. Low muses over his reasons for dropping his misguided bill, average Californians should realize what his broad, chilling ban represented. Basic choices were denied, free speech was attacked, religious freedom was trampled. And Low's fellow Democrat legislators supported this full-scale assault on people's constitutional rights. This is an outrage and voters should take note.

"Ultimately, California voters must stop accepting liars as legislators. When elected officials raise their right hand and promise to 'support and defend' the U.S. Constitution, that means protecting free speech you don't want to hear, religious freedom you don't agree with, and the personal choices of people who you don't like. All the Democrats who voted for AB 2943 broke their contract with the Constitution and their covenant with the People."

Court rulings expose unconstitutional excesses of Democrat politicians

Sacramento, California (June 26, 2018) -- SaveCalifornia.com, a leading pro-family, pro-child organization, says federal court opinions are exposing the aggressive, unconstitutional excesses of modern Democrat politicians. Today, SaveCalifornia.com President Randy Thomasson issued the following statement:
"California's Democrat state legislators attacked the free speech of pro-life crisis pregnancy centers, but the U.S. Supreme Court overturned their unconstitutional statute. Colorado's 'Civil Rights Commission,' appointed by Democrat governors, attacked the religious freedom of a Christian baker, but the high court ruled they can't do that. The Democrat-dominated cities of San Francisco and Oakland went to court seeking 'climate change' money from oil companies, but a federal judge threw out their lawsuits, saying this is a matter for Congress, not courts, to decide."
"All these cases expose the unconstitutional excesses of the Democrat politicians. Thankfully, there are enough judges who still understand that the United States of America cannot be ruled by barbarians at the gate. We are still a government of laws, not of men."

8/30/18: AB 2943 squashing choice and speech will be defeated

SAVECALIFORNIA.COM NEWS RELEASE

August 30, 2018 -- For Immediate Release

AB 2943 squashing choice and speech will be defeated
Thomasson: "If this blatantly unconstitutional bill isn't dropped, stopped, or vetoed in Sacramento, it will be struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court."

Sacramento, California (August 30, 2018) -- The California Legislature's most unconstitutional bill of the year will be struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court unless it dies a well-deserved death at the State Capitol in Sacramento, according to SaveCalifornia.com, a leading West Coast pro-family organization.

AB 2943 would forbid persons struggling with "LGBT" addictions from hiring a loving, professional counselor in California to help them overcome homosexual or transsexual desires. This unconstitutional bill denying people's free-will choices would also penalize churches, pastors, and para-church ministries if they held a paid event or sold a book on overcoming same-sex feelings.

"AB 2943 tramples basic American liberties of free speech, religious freedom, and the freedom to pursue your own self-improvement," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com. "If this blatantly unconstitutional bill isn't dropped, stopped, or vetoed in Sacramento, it will be struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court. There are already multiple challenges to AB 2943 being planned in light of this summer's National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) v. Becerra ruling, which recognized the free-speech rights of organizations and professionals. If passed and signed, AB 2943 will eventually be struck down, which would be a 50-state rebuttal of the intolerant 'LGBT' agenda, which is incessantly trampling other people's constitutional rights."

For two weeks now, AB 2943 has been on the Assembly floor, without its lead author, Evan Low, asking his Democrat Assembly leaders to bring it up for a vote. This unusual delay before the August 31 legislative deadline begs these questions: Does the author realize the unprecedented public outrage over AB 2943 would hurt Democrat candidates on the November ballot? Have enough Democrat assemblymembers told AB 2943's author they won't vote for it? Has Governor Jerry Brown privately communicated that he doesn't want AB 2943 on his desk? Has the bill sponsor, Equality California, decided that risking federal court challenges to AB 2943 could result not only in freedom of counseling for adults, but also for freedom of counseling for loving parents of gender-confused minors, thus rolling back the 'LGBT' activists' anti-free speech agenda?

"There are lots of people who've had gender confusion counseling and are a lot happier afterwards," Thomasson said. "If AB 2943's backers are so concerned about harm, he'd oppose the unhealthy homosexual and transsexual agenda, which has the highest HIV/AIDS transmission rate in our state and nation. How come the 'LGBTIQ' agenda encourages young people to question their heterosexuality, but is against anyone questioning their homosexuality? This freedom-robbing bill is profoundly unfair and blatantly unconstitutional."

"Consider that establishment entities generally view natural medicine, raw milk, homeschooling, spankings, and very religious families as 'harmful,'" Thomasson added. "Yet in a free society, what people choose for themselves is permitted. So should professional counseling for adults who want out of homosexuality and transsexuality. These are paying customers who seek self-improvement. What kind of society are we if we criminalize this redemptive healing?"

"Next time any of these anti-freedom legislators choose a personal or marriage counselor, let them be reminded what hypocrites they are for denying other people their own choice of a counselor," Thomasson concluded.

8/16/18: AB 2943 squashing choice and speech passes California Senate

SAVECALIFORNIA.COM NEWS RELEASE

August 16, 2018 -- For Immediate Release

AB 2943 squashing choice and speech passes California Senate
Thomasson: "How can any legislator voting for this call themselves pro-choice when they've voted to wipe out a person's own choice of a counselor?"

Sacramento, California -- Today's 25 to 11 passage by the California State Senate of a controversial ban on gender confusion counseling and free speech in California (AB 2943) has prompted the comment of Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, a leading West Coast pro-family organization.

"How can any legislator voting for this call themselves pro-choice when they've voted to wipe out a person's own choice of a counselor?" Thomasson asked. "How can any legislator voting for AB 2943 say they support religious freedom when they've just threatened church bookstores that sell self-help books about overcoming unwanted same-sex desires? AB 2943 is anti-free-speech, anti-religious-freedom, anti-free-choice, and has no place in a free society. This intolerant bill contains no exemption and no protection at all for religious entities."

If signed into law, AB 2943 will be challenged in federal court based on this summer's National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) v. Becerra ruling, which recognized the free-speech rights of organizations and professionals. "Governor Brown, your only constitutional act would be to veto this flagrantly unconstitutional bill," Thomasson said.

Thomasson also took issue with the Democrat author of AB 2943, who claims counseling to overcome same-sex attraction is somehow "harmful."

"There are lots of people who've had gender confusion counseling and are a lot happier afterward," Thomasson said. "If Evan Low is so concerned about harm, he'd oppose the unhealthy homosexual and transsexual agenda, which has the highest HIV/AIDS transmission rate in our state and nation. How come the 'LGBTIQ' agenda encourages young people to question their heterosexuality, but is against anyone questioning their homosexuality? "Next time any of these anti-freedom legislators choose a personal or marriage counselor, let them be reminded what hypocrites they are for denying other people their own choice of a counselor," Thomasson concluded.
