Is your child’s school or your church safe? Probably not.

Sunday, December 16, 2012, 2:52 am | Randy Thomasson

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about Friday’s shocking massacre of 6- and 7-year-olds — 20 children total — along with 6 adults. All these innocents slaughtered by an evil, demonic, 20-year-old murderer who gained entry to a public elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.

You wouldn’t know it from listening to the mainstream media, but criminals don’t usually target people or places where they know people are armed for defense. Instead, the body bags are piling up in “gun free zones.”

In our God-ignoring, dehumanizing culture, I’m afraid we’re going to see more mass murders, like this one planned in Oklahoma but foiled just a few days ago. In schools, in theaters, in church buildings. For people are being increasingly regarded as things. Babies, children, women, men, the elderly. America’s self-centered culture and the hedonistic media messages that people digest from their youth are teaching them that other people are either useful, useless, or in the way, rather than innately precious in God’s sight.

As godlessness rises in society, violent attacks will correspondingly increase in formerly “safe” places. That’s why church shootings are on the rise, as was reported in 2007.

Consider last month in Los Angeles: “For God’s sake, if people going to church aren’t protected, then who is?” asked a nearby business owner, who bolted out of his store when he heard the gunfire and saw the dead man lying on the asphalt, surrounded by loudly grieving parishioners. — Church shooting over graffiti outrages L.A. neighborhood, L.A. Times, Nov. 5, 2012

Anti-crime expert John Lott says to protect people at churches, schools, and theaters, there need to be people inside who are armed and trained to shoot in defense. “There are simply too many possible ways to get into different buildings, as the killer at the Batman movie showed by bringing his weapons through the locked emergency door at the back of the theater,” Lott writes. “To reduce future carnage, the key is to get someone with a gun quickly at the scene. Quick responses not only limit the number of casualties, but reduce the attention these killers garner from committing their crimes. We can’t get rid of gun-free zones soon enough.”

Do you lock the door of your home at night? Do you lock your car doors? Yes, you do. Are you ready to use a gun in self defense at home to protect your family? You need to be. Will anyone protect your children if you send them away to a school, or protect your church congregation, if a crazed gunman decides to shoot up the school or the church building? The honest answer is no — not unless there are armed people there who are trained to shoot down murderous assailants.

We must stop fooling ourselves. To protect ourselves and others in our increasingly violent society, responsible citizens must be armed at home and designated, trained individuals should be armed and ready for an intruder at school campuses and where local churches gather. More schools and local churches are using paid security and putting together a comprehensive security plan. The Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock had their men bring loaded muskets into the congregation house because they knew about possible Indian attacks. We should be as wise and as loving today.

No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

Jesus Christ on sex, marriage, and divorce

Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 5:37 pm |

While the true origin of St. Valentine’s Day is unknown or suspect, I’d like to apply a Christian principle from it that Jesus would love: Energize your marriage with His sacrificial love this week.

The only sexual relationship allowed by Jesus is marriage between a man and a woman, because Jesus spoke against having sexual pleasure and sexual activity outside of marriage:

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” (Matthew 5:27-29 NKJV)

And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” (Mark 7:20-23 NKJV)

Yet while naming these sexual sins, Jesus wholeheartedly celebrated the creation and beauty and purpose of marriage between one man and one woman. This was demonstrated by His first public miracle, at a wedding, where He changed water into wine. Then, in Matthew 19, Jesus powerfully defined marriage, parenthood, and family, and warned against divorce, all in one answer:

The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?” And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Matthew 19:7-9 NKJV)

Therefore, I urge you to use this week to invigorate your marriage with loving words and actions. You can stand up for marriage between a man and a woman in society, but liberals are right to accuse of hypocrisy if you don’t stand against divorce too. For Jesus hated divorce because He loved marriage. This week, celebrate your marriage and the marriage of others in a way that pleases the Savior. By doing so, you’ll help make marriage between a man and a woman more attractive to young people.

Jesus has given husbands and wives “batteries” to energize their marriage. Will you “tap into” His power?

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NKJV

What now, as kids will get ‘LGBT’ role models?

Sunday, October 16, 2011, 8:17 pm |

By now you’ve probably heard that the effort to repeal SB 48, California’s latest government school sexual indoctrination bill, has failed.

As many pro-family Californians know, it’s not for lack of trying. But as many concerned citizens don’t know, it’s because of money. Without paying professional, experienced teams to work eight hours per day gathering most of the signatures, volunteer-only drives for the statewide ballot historically fall short. A campaign must be financed by major donors to get the job done. A similar volunteer effort in 2007 gathered less than half of the requisite signatures.

As a native Californian, I cannot remember a statewide initiative qualifying for the ballot without major funds to hire professional firms that gather and pre-validate the large bulk of the necessary signatures, within a strict deadline. Contributions of $1 million or more are essential near the start of a referendum effort, which has even less time to gather signatures (90 days) than statutory initiatives or state constitutional amendments (150 days).

So that’s the reality, and it is certainly sad. It’s sad for the children who will be further brainwashed, and it’s sad for average citizens who thought they could qualify for the ballot on volunteer energies alone.

And now, the pressing question is — what will parents and grandparents do? SB 48 — mandating homosexual-bisexual-transsexual role models for children as young as kindergarten in K-12 government schools —  is going into effect in January, to brainwash kids to think that homosexuality, bisexuality, and cross-dressing is good and natural and maybe even for them. SB 48 is 1 of 8 school sexual indoctrination laws.

And when you consider the low academic performance and terrible peer pressure in the average government school, as well other immoral, anti-God policies for all California public schools, you know it is time for action. You only have one shot at raising your child.

Reasons to Be Concerned about Having Your Child in Public Schools

1. Your child will be subjected to sexual indoctrination. With SB 48’s “LGBT” role models, California now has EIGHT state laws promoting homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality to children as young as kindergarten, with no parental opt-in or opt-out.

2. Your child is unlikely to learn to read proficiently. California ranks 46th in the nation in fourth grade reading proficiency, with roughly 3 out of 4 students (76%) failing to read at grade level — despite California teachers being among the highest paid in the U.S.

3. Your child will be greatly subjected to negative peer pressure. Children in public schools are more likely to have earlier experiences and develop negative habits in these areas: lying, cussing, cheating, excessive dieting, wearing revealing clothes, pornography, sexual activity, smoking, drugs, alcohol, and even violence. Rescue Your Child Now

The public schools are controlled by the government. They are not “your” schools, because they tell you what to do, not the other way around. SaveCalifornia.com has been saying this for nearly 4 years now. And today we all need to be reminded again that government schools have imploded morally, socially, academically, and spiritually.

The only way to opt out your children from this mess is to exit the government schools and enter the Promised Land of homeschooling and church school. Millions of parents in the United States have exited the government schools; you can too. You CAN homeschool or AFFORD a low-cost church school. To give your children the best and to protect them from ruinous influences that drag down their character, this is your only option.

While some parents may initially find this solution uncomfortable or difficult, my question is this: How much worse does it have to get before you intervene? If a speeding car was on a collision course with your child, wouldn’t you do all you could to rush to rescue your child? And what if you found out someone was planning to sexually molest your child? Nothing could stop you from rescuing your boy or girl. Think about it. If we are so concerned about the physical safety of children, why wouldn’t we also protect their mental, emotional, and spiritual safety? Realize that the raft of school sexual indoctrination mandates imposed on all children in California government schools amounts to mental molestation.

Testimonies of Parents Who Have Left the Government Schools

JILL — “I never in a million years would have thought I’d be homeschooling. My kids attended school in 2 different states and no issues, great grades and attitudes. 2 months after starting school in CA it’s been all downhill. The teachers, principals, school boards, they don’t care. It’s ALL about the ‘California Standard,’ which I’ve found to be whatever the teacher wants to teach. My kids are learning more than they would in school and are happier.”

MARY — “I had been undecided on whether to send my kids to private/Christian schools or public schools until I heard about the Harvey Milk Day stuff. That cemented my decision to do what I need to in order to send our kids to private schools when they are old enough. That way my husband and I will have more say in what our children are taught. I don’t need someone cramming things totally against our belief system down my children’s throats and basically telling me to shove off. I’m the parent, not the school system. I know what’s best for my children, and learning about some pervert gay man is not good for them.” More testimonials

Sure Solutions for Parents

1. Homeschool: If you can read a TV guide, you can homeschool. Working parents are homeschooling. Single moms are homeschooling. They are not letting anything get in the way of shepherding and protecting their child, and they are benefiting from the excellent curriculum packages that essentially “do the teaching” for you.

You can purchase a comprehensive homeschool curriculum package – which includes enrollment, placement/achievement testing, curriculum development, textbooks, tests, handbooks, grading, report cards, diplomas, initial transcript, etc. – for as little as $40 per month per child. Many homeschooling parents do it for even less, with their kids turning out great. See our special website RescueYourChild.com for steps to start

2. Church school: If you cannot or will not homeschool, the next best is a solid church school. There are low-cost church schools in California for as little as $3,000 per year. That’s around $57 a week. Imagine that, a solid church-based school and good, moral environment for as little as $8 per day!

Go online to research existing church-based schools in your area. Ask around and check them out. You must persevere in your search to find what’s available and what’s good. Rescue your child from the immoral, imploding government schools!

If you have a courageous pastor, ask him for permission to transform an empty classroom into a low-cost school for you and other parents. There are homeschool curriculum companies that will help you set it up. Remember, the curriculum does the teaching, and one adult can facilitate 20 children in a classroom, all working at different grade levels. This is a life-changing ministry which is so necessary. “And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD,
choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,
whether the gods which your fathers served
that were on the other side of the River,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
