We condemn death-to-homosexuals ballot initiative
Thomasson: "True tolerance is...to not deprive someone with whom you disagree of their life, liberty, or property."

Sacramento, California -- In light of news reports that a California ballot initiative has been filed by a Huntington Beach man to authorize the killing of people who engage in homosexual behavior, Randy Thomasson, president of the pro-family organization SaveCalifornia.com, which promotes moral virtues for the common good, has issued the following statement:

"This terrible ballot initiative doesn't deserve any reporting, because advocating the killing of people who are not guilty of a contemporary capital crime, not guilty of threatening you with death yourself, and not pointing a rifle at you in war, is wrong in both the eyes of conservatives and liberals.

"The 14st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution declares no one can be deprived of life, liberty (the status of not being incarcerated), or property, without due process of law. This is why law-abiding citizens who recognize God's design of the natural family and natural sex oppose the killing of anyone who disagrees with their values, whether it be homosexuals, transsexuals, or anyone else. That's what true tolerance is -- to not deprive someone with whom you disagree of their life, liberty, or property.

"It's sad that homosexual activists -- who have deprived religious bakers, florists, and photographers of their money and property, as well as their free speech and religious freedom -- aren't tolerant, but are categorically intolerant, punishing dissent. Yet their hurtful agenda deserves peaceful, not violent, opposition. Therefore, we condemn this ill-conceived ballot measure that commands 'death to homosexuals.' We couldn't disagree more, and wish them life instead."
