Why jacked-up gas prices? Don't blame oil companies, blame California state politicians

Thomasson: "Average Californians will get angry when they realize they're being taxed 12 cents more for each and every gallon they pump."

Sacramento, California (October 31, 2017) -- California families will be hurt and angry over the higher gas tax hitting them on Wednesday and higher DMV fees in January, predicts SaveCalifornia.com, which promotes moral virtues for the common good, which includes guarding the financial interests of California families.

Starting November 1, Californians will pay 12 cents more in taxes for every gallon of gas. Then, in January 2018, DMV fees will noticeably increase. Then, in July 2019, Californians' gas tax will rise around 7.5 cents, totaling nearly 20 cents in new, higher taxes for each gallon of gas.

"Average Californians will get angry when they realize they're being taxed 12 cents more for each and every gallon they pump. That's nearly $2 higher costs per fill-up," said SaveCalifornia.com President Randy Thomasson. "California drivers, who already pay too much gas tax, want to know who did this to them, And it isn't the oil companies -- it's Jerry Brown plus 80 Democrats and one Republican at the State Capitol. But even more so, concerned Californians want to know how they can undo this onerous tax."

"This is why a state constitutional amendment to roll back this unnecessary and corrupt gas tax hike and DMV fee hike is essential for the 2018 ballot," Thomasson said. "California families already pay more for gasoline than the rest of the country, and they're incensed to learn that their transportation taxes and fees were misused and diverted by the Legislature and the Governor. God knows it's true that politicians have misspent our transportation funds -- how dare they come back for more."
