Pro-family Californians rejoicing that Gov. Brown has upheld a parental right
Thomasson: "God gave children to parents, not to the State"

Sacramento, California -- SaveCalifornia.com, the longtime pro-family organization that helped lead the opposition to AB 1444, which would have eliminated a parent's right to decide on kindergarten, has issued this statement in response to Gov. Jerry Brown today vetoing the mandatory kindergarten bill:

"Parents and grandparents are thrilled that Jerry Brown has left kindergarten up to fathers and mothers to decide," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which promotes moral virtues for the common good, and which generated thousands of "veto AB 1444" phone calls to Brown. "God gave children to parents, not to the State. Parental rights, which are above the Constitution, are also above any judge or politician."
