A terrible thing has happened in California. The “kings” have declared war on their own people. As a result, hard-working families are having an average of $1,100 more taken from them. Our hard-hearted rulers have decided that their bloated and highly wasteful appetite “must” be fed like never before by you, your children and your grandchildren.
As of April 1, 2009, Californians are suffering under:
> A full percentage point increase in the sales tax (it’s now around 9% in most parts of California)
> A .25% increase in your state income tax
> A massive decrease in your state dependent tax credit (slashed from $309 down to $99, costing you $210 per child)
Right now, California has the 4th highest total tax rate in the United States. Did you know that each year, you have to give 110 days of your working income to the government? It’s a sad fact that most working Americans pay more in taxes than they spend on food, clothing and housing combined.
Add to this the sorry expectation that California’s car tax (Vehicle License Fee) will more than DOUBLE on May 19.
Are you angry yet? You should be. None, absolutely none, of these new taxes was necessary. Why? Because there are multi-billions of dollars in obvious government waste that could and should be slashed from state spending.
