Newsom:’God forbid’ Prop. 8 be upheld

In the biblical context, blasphemy is an attitude of disrespect
that finds expression in an act directed against the character of God
.
Holman Bible Dictionary (1991)

California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat and the former mayor of San Francisco, is an immoral and blasphemous man.

The latest is — in his support of unnatural, unhealthy, unbiblical, and tyrannical homosexual “marriages,” and his desire that the U.S. Supreme Court will this month strike down California’s Proposition 8 reserving marriage licenses for only “a man and a woman” — Newsom has told the PBS NewsHour “God forbid they do the wrong thing” by upholding Prop. 8.

“God forbid”? Mr. Newsom, haven’t you heard that Creator God is clearly against homosexuality and against any marriage not between a man and a woman? From Genesis to Revelation, homosexuality is called a sin by the King of the Universe.

No person who believes in the Bible should put up with Newsom’s blasphemy. Replacing God’s word with his self-styled Catholicism, Newsom holds that Holy God actually likes homosexuality. Isn’t it time to put his claims to the test?

What the Bible says against homosexuality | Why homosexuality is not a “civil right”

But Newsom has put himself on the throne for years. In 2004, when the then-San Francisco mayor printed up homosexual “marriage” licenses, he was on Larry King Live opposite Pastor John MacArthur, who challenged Newsom, “Do you believe the Bible is the word of God?” Admitting “I guess I do,” Newsom then blasted the word of God as “old constructs” that have “held back society,” despite acknowledging that his homosexual agenda is “inconsistent…with your faith.” Transcript | Video

NEWSOM: The point is some of these arguments, they’re reminiscent. With respect to the pastor, I just, you know, I’m a practicing Catholic. I got married in the church two plus years. I don’t see what we’re doing in terms of advancing the bond of love and monogamy and extending that to family, families of same-sex in any way, shape or form takes away anything from the church or the sanctity of the union that my wife and I have.

MACARTHUR: I would just like to ask the mayor as a practicing Catholic, do you believe the Bible is the word of God?

NEWSOM: Pastor, I’m not going to get into a theological debate with you.

MACARTHUR: That’s not a theological debate. That’s just a straight question, do you believe the Bible is the authoritative word of God?

NEWSOM: With respect, I guess I do. Now the response.

MACARTHUR: Then the Bible says when God created man, he said one man, one woman, cleave together, for life. That’s a family. Jesus in the New Testament reaffirms that, all of the writers of the Old and New Testament affirm it. Adultery, bestiality, homosexuality was punishable by death according to the Old Testament law because it was so serious in those early years because it literally shattered the hope of civilization. The New Testament us, of course, grace, those sins, our sins, they are forgivable. Jesus died to redeem us from those sins. We’re all sinners.

KING: What does the state have to do with it?

MACARTHUR: But the point at this juncture is he’s representing the state, he’s coming back and saying I’m a Catholic, and I’m a Catholic and somehow this fits into my Catholicism and I’m saying what’s your authority then?

NEWSOM: I guess the bottom line is we’re living and advancing together across all kinds of differences, pastor. It is an extraordinary, miraculous thing to come out here in San Francisco and I think the world looks to us to see that it’s possible to live together and advance together across our differences, and I’m proud to represent a city that has diverse points of view, open points of view, that doesn’t believe in discrimination and has evolved from the old constructs that I think have frankly held back society and many that are inconsistent, yes, with your faith and I respect the difference of opinion.

“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.  Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.”
Jesus Christ in Matthew 12:31-32 NKJV

California families firmly under Democrats’ control

and does not support or oppose candidates for public office.

When bad bills pass at California’s State Capitol, the media does a big disservice when they tell you only that the “Assembly” or “Senate” or “state legislators” passed something. Such deceptive descriptions hide the fact that the majority party is passing these bills because of the majority party’s philosophy and numerical power in its legislative body.

So let’s say it like it is: Democrat legislators are in control in Sacramento. They’ve had majority control, with just a couple of years of exception, since the late 1950s. And since January of this year, the Democrats have had a supermajority — two-thirds of both houses, the Assembly and state Senate. So the bills that pass — love ’em or hate ’em — come from the hand of the Democrats. Average voters deserve to know what their voting habit is doing for them or to them.

For example, this week, SB 323, to yank state tax-exempt status from private youth organizations if they don’t have homosexual-bisexual-transsexual leaders or members, passed only with and only because 27 Democrats in the state Senate put it through, a two-thirds majority and the bare minimum needed to alter the tax codes. Honest media would have reported “Democrats pass/approve/push.” But that’s not what you see in the news. So it’s up to you to inform people you know, via email and social networking and on news sites.

What do you get with a Democrat supermajority in Sacramento? A virtual guarantee that bills harming children and families will pass the California Legislature. That’s the consequence.

Demonstrating a serious misunderstanding of human design, natural sex, religious freedom, and personal responsibility, these Democrat-authored bills are advancing in a torrid quest to replace wisdom with foolishness and moral virtues with licentiousness:

AB 154 permits nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and physician assistants to perform suction abortions, which tortuously dismember pre-born babies in the womb (bill status)

AB 926 permits young women to be paid to have their human eggs extracted (and destroyed) for the purpose of “medical research,” which also sets the stage for future human cloning. These egg “donations” harm women’s health, can result in sterility, and denies the participants informed consent. (bill status) (“eggsploitation” explained)

AB 999 hands out condoms to homosexuals in state prisons, spreading more disease (bill status)

SB 323 punishes the Boy Scouts and other youth organizations by removing their tax-deductible, non-profit status unless they allow homosexual-bisexual-transsexual youth leaders (bill status)

AB 1266 forces K-12 public schools to permit biological boys in girls’ restrooms, showers, clubs, and on girls’ sports teams; and biological girls in boys’ restrooms, showers, clubs, and on boys’ sports teams (bill status) (existing sexual indoctrination laws)

AB 460 requires insurance policies to cover homosexual “infertility,” despite Nature’s unchangeable laws requiring a man and a woman to conceive (bill status)

AB 48 prevents families from having the same rounds of ammunition with their home-defense gun as criminals have with their guns (bill status)

This is what California’s Democrat-controlled Legislature is doing. Now you can inform others.

When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.

For whom or what would you die or suffer?

Memorial Day means the most to those who’ve known someone who died in war.

But it can mean something significant to everyone if we’ll just think about it.

Honoring those who’ve given the ultimate sacrifice means we deeply appreciate people who have laid down their lives to protect us from evil. They substituted themselves for us. They died so that we could have liberty.

No greater love

And that’s the greatest love on earth – the sacrificial kind. Jesus Christ, the King and Savior of the world, explained it when He said about Himself, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13 NKJV)

It makes me ask myself and ask you, for whom or what would I die or suffer?

Think about it. Hard work gets good things done. And suffering the flesh is a necessary part of becoming holy.

Remembering just wars

I’m convinced that World War II would not have been won on the side of Right unless the United States of America had chosen to enter it and win it. The cost of liberty was many U.S. soldiers died and many Americans suffered through rationing, hard work, and the loss of sons killed in battle.

But when the war ended, and the soldiers came home, and our nation “got back to normal,” Americans largely ignored the existence of evil on our own soil and in our own hearts. Houses, jobs, TV, pleasures, and labor-saving devices were the new pursuit.

Enslaved by lies

Living out traditional values instead of true Christianity, many parents in the late 1940s and early 50s birthed a new generation, of whom many rebelled in the late 1960s and early 70s. Remember the hippie movement? Lies about sex and drugs and God led millions astray, and gave birth to the harmful culture of moral relativism.

Fast forward to today. More than two generations have passed since we’ve made abortion on demand legal, made divorce easy and “guiltless” in the law, and made the carnal ethic of “if it feels good, do it” the deceiving master of our hearts.

Carnal consequences

Given this spiral down the proverbial toilet, is it so hard to see why America is more godless than godly? Pursuing comfort and avoiding suffering hasn’t taught our culture to love God or love children with His values. No, that was “too hard” and didn’t bring immediate gratification.

So what have been America’s just desserts for rebellion against her true King? Moral ruination of children, a generation that shocks us with new inventions of evil, and a people harming themselves with self-induced diseases and dying sooner than their parents. America is imploding from within.

Spirit over flesh

What’s the answer? The value of suffering is clear. For the Spirit to win, the flesh must be defeated. And for the highest love to be demonstrated, the greatest voluntary sacrifice must be given. Do you grasp it? Now is the time for sacrificial love for the sake of ourselves, our families, and our culture.

Again, for whom or what would you be willing to die or suffer? A correct perspective on true love and cultural renewal would make us, in the face of moral challenges, stop asking “Why me?” and begin asking “Why not me?” With faith in the Gospel and love for people, our willingness to “suffer” to do what’s right will be the beginning of changed minds, leading to changed lives.
