Be glad! COURAGEOUS is #1 new film in America

Monday, October 3, 2011, 4:02 pm |

I’m excited to be part of a great success today…a success for God and families in America.

You’re part of it too, if you’ve seen or recommended to others to see COURAGEOUS, the exciting and inspiring Christian-values movie in theaters right now.

The great victory is this: COURAGEOUS was the #1 new movie in theaters over the weekend. COURAGEOUS brought in more than $9 million and beat big-name actors and actresses in other movies that were much more expensive to make. The A+ heart-and-soul story of COURAGEOUS sets it apart from the others. See the box office chart

And get this, COURAGEOUS is the top new film despite showing on fewer than half the screens as the other current films in the “top 10.” At a whopping $7,806 in per-theater ticket sales, this wonderful film about the importance of fathers surpassed even the #1 film in box office revenue, Dolphin Tale, theater per theater. (Dolphin Tale, already out a week, averaged $3,958 per theater.)

As you know, for the last month, SaveCalifornia.com has been promoting COURAGEOUS as part of our “Courageous Dads Month.” Be glad about this victory for all the hearts and minds being touched by this life-changing movie from Alex and Stephen Kendrick and the Jesus-loving folks at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.

ACTION: Tell your friends to see COURAGEOUS (see the trailer and find theater locations) and get the Resolution for Men and Resolution for Women to make tangible, God-honoring changes in yourself and your family, changes that will count for generations.

“Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.”

5 reasons to see ‘Courageous’ this weekend

Friday, September 30, 2011, 1:48 pm |

Today, I recorded a SaveCalifornia.com Radio Show with Stephen Kendrick, the producer and co-writer of theĀ  new Christian values movie, “Courageous.” (The film opens tonight, the radio show airs next week).

As you know, SaveCalifornia.com has been promoting “Courageous Dads Month” for the past 30 days. We’re showing people the exciting trailers of “Courageous,” how to locate a theater showing the film, how to obtain the “Resolution for Men” and the “Resolution for Women,” and more.

I’m enthused that more dads are seeing and catching the vision — which is, if you want good kids, you need to become a Godly father.

Here are 5 reasons I encourage you to see “Courageous” tonight or Saturday or Sunday:

1. Fathers will discover or rediscover their God-given purpose.
2. Wives will be encouraged how to support their husbands during crisis.
3. Children will learn virtues that train them to be moral adults.
4. Pastors will be encouraged to instruct and raise up a new generation of Godly fathers.
5. If enough people see “Courageous” this opening weekend, the box office numbers will go up, Hollywood will notice, and more family values moral movies will be made and distributed and supported.

And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath,
but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4 NKJV

Take our Courageous Challenge

Tuesday, September 27, 2011, 7:50 pm |

If you want to be a better father or learn what a good father looks like, I want to encourage you to see the new film, “Courageous,” opening this weekend.

We must all recognize that America has a fatherhood crisis. The crime, immorality, materialism, selfishness, laziness, idolatry, and hatred of God and man in society can be traced to the lack of Godly fathers in the home (or completely missing from the home).

For if a father leads, loves, provides, and shepherds his family to trust and obey God with a heart of love and actions that follow, his children will be positive lights in our culture, making it better, not worse. As “Courageous” vividly depicts, just being “a good enough father” doesn’t cut it.

Listen to my latest SaveCalifornia.com Minute to be reminded of the consequences of not capturing your daughter’s heart.

Any father who wants to discover his God-given purpose can do exactly that by seeing “Courageous.” That’s why SaveCalifornia.com is getting behind the life-changing, family-rescuing film. Love your your family and see “Courageous” this weekend, and tell others.
