Will ‘men’ and ‘women’ restroom signs be torn down?

AB1732finalpassageAssemblyfloor082216

The foolish favoritism that the ruling Democrats (and some Republicans) in the California Legislature give to a segment of transsexual activists, who want to abolish male/female differences wherever they can, may result in the elimination of “men,” “women,” “boys,” and “girls” single-user restrooms up and down California.

genderneutralrestroomsignOn August 22, the California State Assembly gave final approval to AB 1732, which requires the removal of male- and female-designated single-user restrooms in all California businesses (including home businesses) and all religious schools and colleges, senior centers, and day care centers.

This radical bill that has no religious exemption passed the California State Assembly with the “yes” votes of most of the Democrats and 5 Republicans. This came after 25 Democrats and 3 Republicans in the State Senate passed it. See who voted yes and no.

This year, SaveCalifornia.com was the only organization opposing AB 1732 at the State Capitol. No business organizations spoke out like their counterparts did in other states where similar bills were defeated. No other pro-family organizations fought it either (one pro-family leader even publicly said AB 1732 “makes a lot of sense” for how it’s “sensitive to many transgendered people”).

Now AB 1732 can only be stopped by Jerry Brown. There is no legislation in the nation like this that has gotten this far. It is time for every pro-family business owner to mail and fax their veto letter to Gov. Brown, on business letterhead. Brown’s fax is 916-558-3160.

RE: AB 1732 Veto Request

Dear Governor Brown,

As a small business owner, I am writing to urge you to veto AB 1732.
This bill is unnecessary. We’ve never had a problem, incident, or complaint. Anyone who identifies as male uses the men’s room; anyone who identifies as female uses the women’s room.

Yet AB 1732 would force me to buy and install new door signs and possibly also install a men’s urinal in the women’s room. Subsection (c) of the bill defines “single-user toilet facility” as “a toilet facility with no more than one water closet and one urinal with a locking mechanism controlled by the user.” This is poorly drafted at the least. I don’t want to be forced to pay for plumbing, drywall, and masonry work to install a men’s urinal in the women’s room.

And women and girls don’t want to use a urine-stained toilet seat, which I’ve seen too many times. Also, while my restrooms shut and lock properly, I am concerned for the privacy and security of women and girls in restrooms that don’t shut or lock properly, since under an “all-gender” restroom mandate, a man or boy could surprise a woman or girl who is on the toilet.

I am also concerned this bill could result in less access. Under AB 1732, small businesses — especially businesses that start up or move — that wish to save time and money can go from two single-user restrooms (one for men and one for women) to only one restroom (“all gender”). They could easily be motivated to save costs on installation, repair, supplies, cleaning, water, electricity, and inspection. For AB 1732 is silent on whether there must be “two restrooms.”

Furthermore, AB 1732 is inconsistent with laws requiring separate restrooms for males and females. At restaurants, public and private school cafeterias, etc.: California Health and Safety Code, Section 114276 requires that “a food facility with more than 20,000 square feet of floor space shall provide at least one separate toilet facility for men and one separate toilet facility for women.” At gas stations: Business and Professions Code, Section 13651 mandates urban and suburban service stations to “include separate facilities for men and women.” At construction sites: Cal/OSHA Title 8 regulations (Subchapter 4. Construction Safety Orders, Article 3, Section 1526) reads “A minimum of one separate toilet facility shall be provided for each 20 employees or fraction thereof of each sex.” At government buildings and offices: Health and Safety Code, Section 118500 says public agencies must provide restrooms “for each sex.”

Governor Brown, AB 1732 is not only unnecessary, it’s poorly drafted and it’s intrusive. As a small business owner, I would appreciate your veto of AB 1732.

Sincerely,

Radical attack on Christian colleges in election year COULD be stopped

Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 6:38 pm | Randy Thomasson

OpposeSB1146

STOP — THIS ALERT BELOW HAS EXPIRED. SEE THE LATEST HERE

TAKE ACTION: Express your concern and anger

You want religious freedom protected and respected, right? And you want Christian colleges to be able to stay Christian, right?

This is why you and I and many other people of faith are opposing SB 1146, which would permit homosexual-bisexual-transsexual activists to SUE Christian colleges to FORCE upon them a raft of sexual perversity laws that will take the “Christian” out of Christian colleges.

The problem is, few people know how to fight to win. Now I admit, it’s very hard to win for anything good and true in the current, Democrat-controlled California State Legislature.

Yet I can tell you this — everything I know in my 20+ years of serving California families informs me that SB 1146 COULD be defeated on the Assembly floor. But to achieve victory, we must fight with the right targets, right tactics, and right message.

analysisWhy target the Assembly floor:

1. More freedom of conscience on floor for Democrats: Unlike committees where individual Democrats are expected to vote yes on the Democrats’ priority bills, to pass them through committee and send them to the floor, Democrats on the Assembly floor are “allowed” much more freedom to vote their conscience. This includes those who voted yes in committee!

2. Additional freedom for Democrats in an election year: Democrat bosses lose more control the closer Election Day looms because Democrats in swing districts don’t want to lose on something as popular as religious freedom or even violating their own liberal principle of “separation of Church and State.”

Therefore, the Assembly floor vote this August can be the perfect storm IF morally-sensitive Californians unleash a flood of outrage against the tyrannical SB 1146.

In the 80-member California State Assembly, there are currently 52 Democrats and 28 Republicans. Because passing SB 1146 requires a majority vote (41 “yes” votes), this immoral and completely un-American bill will be defeated IF:

  • At least 12 Democrat assemblymembers DO NOT support the bill
  • And NONE of the 28 Republican assemblymembers support the bill

Lastly, if the Christian-format colleges and universities opposing SB 1146 would direct all their donors and alumni to make these calls (and would collect important funds to fight campaign-style in these key districts), it would be the best and biggest army against SB 1146 and for religious freedom in California.

Democrats: You can have faith, but can’t practice it

EvilAttackonChristianColleges441x240

Be disturbed. Be very disturbed.
And please, express your concern and anger now.

Realize that the same devilish spirit that burned Christians alive and threw them to ravenous beasts in the 1st through 3rd centuries is now in 2016 demanding that California Christians abandon their obedience to Jesus Christ or be severely punished.

That’s what the Democrat politicians’ SB 1146 would do to Christian institutions in California. This intolerant, tyrannical bill would force Christian-format colleges, universities, and Bible schools to abandon their obedience to God on sexual matters — by imposing the unnatural, unhealthy, unbiblical homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda instead.

Stop and think about it. Evil forces are coming for your friends today. If you don’t stand up for them, these forces will come for you tomorrow!

At the last hearing on SB 1146 on June 30, a young homosexual activist demanded legal permission to sue his former Christian college for big bucks, saying, “As a religious, Christ-loving openly gay man, I believe I should have the legal right to a discriminatory-free education…[with] legal recourse…”

Also at the hearing, the head of the largest “LGBTQ” promotion group in California (Equality California) essentially said Christian colleges must submit to his tyrannical homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda: “SB 1146 makes it clear that our existing state discrimination laws should apply in these higher education settings.”

Defending Christian values and religious freedom was Dr. John Jackson, the president of William Jessup University. At the hearing, Dr. Jackson said, “Part of the beauty of the American experience is the foundational recognition of unalienable rights, which do not derive from government, but derive from our Creator. Jessup and other faith-based schools have clear religious convictions regarding gender, sexuality, and marriage. SB 1146 marginalizes students and schools whose beliefs do not align with the views of those holding the levers of government power…creating a society that does not value diversity of opinion and even punishing dissent from what politicians have determined are the correct beliefs.”

See the devilish spirit of the Democrats at the hearing, where author and his witnesses insisted religious practices must be eliminated in favor of the unbiblical “LGBTQ” agenda. And in corrupt fashion, the Democrats passed SB 1146 on “intent,” not based on the proposed language in front of them! SB 1146 will be heard in August in the Assembly Appropriations Committee, then the Assembly floor, and if it passes, the Senate floor.

EXPRESS YOUR CONCERN AND ANGER RIGHT NOW. If you support religious freedom and don’t want yours or anyone else’s religious freedom punished, please take quick action right now. SaveCalifornia.com makes it simple for you to leave a message with your own state assemblymember, state senator, and the governor.

When you call, leave a simple message, like, “Oppose SB 1146. Protect religious freedom. Protect ‘separation of Church and State.’ Protect the freedom of religious institutions to uphold their own values. Support true diversity — oppose SB 1146.”

Enter your addressorange-1-hi to bring up your own state assemblymember and state senator’s phone numbers. Call their district offices where they are receiving messages this month of July.
