California oil: Will truth overcome the Left’s lies?

Friday, December 12, 2025, 9:47 am | Randy Thomasson

See our 12/5/25 blog, “California’s gasoline supply is evaporating.”

Is relief from high gasoline prices on the way for Californians and Americans?

Offshore oil holds great potential to increase supply and thereby lower the costs of both gasoline and natural gas — and electricity. Because around 37% of California’s electricity is generated by natural gas, which is often extracted alongside oil.

And offshore oil drilling is better than ever, with these significant improvements required by the U.S. government since October 2011, which have proven effective in preventing large spills:

  • Sturdier wells
  • Improved blowout protectors
  • Robotic subs on every oil rig
  • Improved preparedness for future blowouts
  • Improved technology for tracking and controlling released oil

From MSN 12/10/25

“Offshore oil drilling could begin in Southern California for the first time in decades, due to a proposal from the Trump administration to open federal waters off the entire state coastline.

“Drilling in the Pacific Ocean could begin as soon as 2027 off Southern and Central California — and in 2029 off Northern California — if President Donald Trump’s offshore plan moves forward. But many state leaders and residents are already mobilizing in opposition.

“Offshore operations supply about 15 percent of the nation’s domestic oil, according to the Department of the Interior. Federal estimates indicate the Outer Continental Shelf still holds roughly 68.8 billion barrels of undiscovered oil and 229 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

“Environmental groups in California have been outspoken in their opposition, but the American Petroleum Institute and other leading oil and gas associations backed reviewing new Outer Continental Shelf leasing areas in a June letter.

“In 2050, as is the case today, more than half of U.S. demand is expected to be met by oil and natural gas,” they wrote. “Continuous exploration and drilling will be needed to meet these expectations.”

NOTE: New oil pumped offshore (federal jurisdiction) would likely have to be shipped to non-California refineries, since California’s Democrat Party politicians are expected to continue to block pipelines and trucks on “their land.”

Californians, find the cheapest gasoline near you

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

California’s gasoline supply is evaporating

If you voted for Democrats, you voted for this!

In 1982, California had more than 40 refineries, but soon, we’ll go down to only 7. When this happens, the gasoline supply will become unstable, resulting in shortages, while prices skyrocket — courtesy of the anti-people Democrat Party politicians in control of California state government.

See our 12/12/25 update, “California oil: Will truth overcome the Left’s lies?”

Phillips 66’s refinery in Los Angeles is closing down this month. Then, as soon as January, Valero will shut down its big refinery in Benicia at the southwest edge of Solano County.

Newsom & the Democrats (who control 3/4ths of the seats in both houses of the California State Legislature) were warned in Spring 2025, but so far they’ve done nothing substantial to prevent this supply-chain problem:

GasBuddy.com’s Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick De Haan on his X account said“It’s clear that the political environment in California has been hostile to refiners, and the state badly needs to revise its mentality or face a declining number of refineries and higher prices.”

So why are California gas prices already the highest nationwide?

As oil expert Dave Noerr told the California Globe:

“The growing difference between the price of crude oil and the retail cost of gas and diesel as well as the additional cost Californians pay compared to every bordering state and the rest of the U.S. is:

  • The Sacramento surcharge
  • The cost of California
  • The growing of Government
  • The Low Carbon Fuel Standard
  • The Cap and Trade Program
  • Vapor recycling requirements
  • Data collection
  • Air quality mandated equipment replacements

So California, the fact of the matter is, you are paying the same or less for the crude oil contained in a gallon of gas or diesel. You are just paying a lot more for government.”

How to have Real Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 26, 2025, 10:14 am | Randy Thomasson

What’s the real meaning of Thanksgiving?

Turn the word around and it’s GivingThanks.

But to whom do you give thanks (since you thank a person)?

On Thanksgiving Day and hopefully every day, humble, in-reality people will thank Creator God in Jesus’ Name for His creation, sustenance, Word, love, etc. Because, without Him, we’re nothing and have nothing!

A great way to help those at your table give God glory is to ask, “What are you thankful to God for?” This substantive question, when safely and patiently asked, helps others give God the credit where credit is due. (You might need to remind them, “What do you specifically thank God for?” instead of just being glad about something or crediting “fate.”)

See these videos to inspire you and others to praise Creator God in Jesus’ Name: Thankful | Thank You God

Enjoy and read aloud to others these short stories about the first Thanksgiving in America

Remember, a grateful heart helps everyone. So challenge yourself to be thankful. Take a minute to reignite your soul to thank the Author of Life for air, food, water, and our basic necessities. Focus on the One who made the sun in the sky, the oceans, the animals, every original food and substance, and all we rely on, including the ground we walk on.

Lastly, stop and realize there are two types of people: Those who sincerely thank God, and those who “did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful” (Romans 1:21). And consider how thanking God not only gives God His due, but also calms your mind, since gratitude and worry cannot coexist in the same moment.

“…that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
Jesus Christ, Savior of the world and God in the flesh, in Matthew 5:45

“Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.”
