Why do you pay more for gas and electricity in California?

Preview (opens in a new window)

Earlier this year, 80 Democrats and 1 Republican voted in Sacramento to raise your gasoline taxes and your DMV fees. Specifically, this means 20 cents more in taxes for each and every gallon you pump. Are you feeling the pain yet?

Today, November 25, 2017, the average price per gallon of regular gas in California is $3.186. One month ago, before the 20-cent-per-gallon-tax-hike, the average price per gallon was $3.074.

Why is the difference 11.2 cents more, not 20 cents more, per gallon? Because many gas stations recently switched to their legally-allowed “winter blend” of gas, which is cheaper. You can expect California gas prices to be noticeably higher in the spring — as much as 20 cents more per gallon — when the more expensive “summer blend” returns.

ACTION: Plan now to vote YES to repeal the unnecessary and corrupt gas tax hike and DMV fee hike in November 2018, when, hopefully, a constitutional amendment will be on California’s ballot.

But wait, there’s more!

In the United States of America, there are 26 states with a Republican governor and a Republican-controlled state legislature. These states, with elected representatives committed to lower taxes and less regulation, enjoy combined gasoline and electricity prices that are BELOW the national average.

But among Democrat-controlled states, such as California, most of them impose HIGHER-THAN-AVERAGE costs at the gas pump and on your electricity bill.

Why do your energy bills keep going up, up, up? Now you know it’s because of Democrat politicians. Remember, it was 80 Democrats and 1 Republican in the Legislature, plus a Democrat governor, that imposed higher gasoline taxes on you.

ACTION: Share this fact with a Democrat that you love or a Democrat friend. They deserve to know how voting for Democrats is making them poorer.

American statesman Daniel Webster in 1819

California gas now highest in the contiguous US

Californians aren’t noticing much of a gas tax hike — yet.

You see, the Democrat politicians timed their new gas tax to coincide with the state-permitted “winter blend” gasoline kicking in, which costs about 12 cents less per gallon than the state-mandated “summer blend.” How convenient for them!

Remember, the Democrat politicians are expert thieves and master manipulators. They take more money from you — slowly, so you don’t realize it. Therefore, their new gas tax will charge 12 more cents per gallon November 1, but you won’t really “feel it” until Spring 2018.

So, the first noticeable pain will be your DMV bill going up $25 to $175 on January 1, 2018. Then, when the “summer blend” fuel returns, you’ll notice the 12 cents more tax per gallon. And then, in July 2019, the Democrats’ new gas tax will increase around 7.5 cents more per gallon, which is nearly 20 cents per gallon total in new gas taxes.

California has higher gas prices than other states because of higher gas taxes (the consequences of Democrat rulers), higher gasoline regulations (it costs more to produce California-only blends), lower supply from within (the State greatly limits oil drilling), lower supply from without (the State isn’t permitting new pipelines from other states), and higher real estate prices (more depressing of the supply due to Democrats’ laws) and more expensive employees (job-killing socialism of the Democrat politicians).

Bottom line, when Democrats are in control of a state and are in bed with environmental wacko groups, you and everyone else gets socked with higher gas prices and higher prices for most everything else!

Fill your California gas tank before Nov. 1, vote yes on repeal in 2018

You and other Californians will soon experience some noticeable pain at the pump.

Starting November 1, you’ll pay 12 cents more in taxes for every gallon of gas.

Then, in mid-2019, your gas tax will rise around 7.5 cents, totaling nearly 20 cents in higher taxes for each gallon you pump.

If you’re not angry yet, realize that the Democrat politicians have also jacked up your DMV fees. You’ll feel that pain starting in January.

The Democrats’ gas tax and DMV fee hike was unnecessary.

You already pay high gas taxes and DMV fees for the purpose of maintaining roads. California’s ruling Democrats are lying by saying they don’t have money to repair freeways, highways, and streets. Yes, they do, and they’re grossly misspending your tax dollars.

Realize they have money for a state defense fund for illegal aliens, for tax-funded abortions, for the largest welfare caseload in the nation, for the state bureaucracy’s continually growing appetite, and so much more. Do you know there hasn’t been a tough, independent audit in memory of the BILLIONS OF TAX DOLLARS wasted each and every year in Sacramento?

As most state Senate Republicans accurately said, “We can fix our roads and bridges by simply ensuring that the billions of dollars that drivers are already paying in transportation fees and taxes are actually used for transportation purposes, rather than being swept into the state’s General Fund.”

What can you do about it?

1. Plan to vote YES in 2018 to repeal the unnecessary and corrupt gas tax hike and DMV fee hike. There’s a serious effort to qualify a ballot initiative and it need your support.

2. Be careful how you vote for candidates. This year, 80 Democrats (out of 81 possible) + 1 Republican (Anthony Cannella of the Modesto area) voted to jack up your gas taxes and DMV fees. Do you want this bad behavior to continue or stop?

“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of our government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded. If our government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine Commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws.” Noah Webster, author of the first American Dictionary, known as “The Schoolmaster of the Nation”
