Democrat politicians vote to tax and fee you more

Monday, June 29, 2009, 2:03 pm |

It only took five-and-a-half weeks after they were spanked by California voters for the tax-and-spend politicians to rebel against their masters.

Despite the vote of Californians on May 19 to reject higher taxes and fees and more borrowing, the Democrats in the California Legislature — both yesterday and today — have voted to impose higher taxes and fees and borrowing. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true.

The good news is that all six Republicans who voted for higher taxes and fees in February are now OPPOSING the new taxes and fees of the Democrats, in both the Assembly and the Senate. The spanking from the voters seems to at least be working on Republican legislators.

Even better news is that Governor Schwarzenegger will veto this tax-and-fee package because it’s unconstitutional. It takes a two-thirds vote of each house to increase revenue, which won’t happen without Republican votes.

The Democrats don’t know their constitution and claim they can raise taxes and fees by a simple majority.  In December, the Governor vetoed a similar package of bills that violated the constitutional two-thirds requirement.

The truth is, the Democrats’ irresponsible tax-and-spend habits of the last 20+ years have put the State of California into a kind of financial foreclosure.

But the ruling Democrat politicians don’t want to cut the waste and fraud that’s plain to see. Instead, they want you to pay the bill anda bail them out. (Note: If you have your identity in a political party, rest assured that I’m a registered independent who simply calls ’em as I see ’em.)

Instead of raising taxes and fees, the Democrats should get honest and slash tens of billions of dollars annually in government waste and fraud. This is the first necessary step in restoring financial health to California government.

Today, SaveCalifornia.com issued a truth-telling news release condemning the Democrats’ attack upon the finances of California families. Read it here.

This whole battle of tax increases versus cutting government waste may be resolved this week. If it’s not, IOUs will be issued to government contractors starting July 1. They’ll eventually be paid when a budget deal is struck.

California’s tax-and-spend government must cut the bloat. That’s what the voters demanded on Election Day and what hard-working families are demanding now.

The winners of this battle will be those who persevere the longest. Will you do your part in this fast-moving battle? Please click here to take immediate action. Urge Governor Schwarzenegger and your legislators to “Oppose higher taxes and fees and more borrowing. Cut massive waste and fraud instead!”

Who will be the next governor of California?

Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 8:07 pm |

SaveCalifornia.com does not support or oppose candidates for public office, and provides the following information solely for educational purposes.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the former head of the ACLU of Southern California, former Speaker of the California Assembly, and former husband before his wife divorced him over his chronic adultery, says he won’t run for Governor of California in 2010.

This leaves two top contenders for the Democratic nomination: California Attorney General and former governor Jerry Brown vs. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.

On the subject of respecting marriage for a man and a woman, Newsom was reelected mayor in 2007 despite his affair with a married woman. More than any mayor in the state or nation, Newsom has led the charge for homosexual “marriages” in the courts, the law and the culture.

What about the other candidates? Jerry Brown also supports homosexual “marriages,” trying to strike down Prop. 8 at the California Supreme Court, and now calling for Prop. 8 to be struck down in federal court.

On the Republican side, major contenders Steve Poizner and Meg Whitman both say they voted yes on Prop. 8. Poizner also says he’s “fine with domestic partnerships and all.”  Whitman says she supports the court validating 18,000 homosexual “marriages,” and also supports homosexual adoptions and homosexual “civil unions” with all the rights of married spouses

Second-rung Republican contenders include former congressman and state senator Tom Campbell, who has been a prominate voice in favor of homosexual “marriages” and against Prop. 8. Another possible Republican candidate is Ventura County supervisor Peter Foy, who supports marriage licenses and marriage rights for only a man and a woman.

Given that 52.3% of California voters said marriage should only be between “a man and a woman” last November, will they remain consistent on this point when voting for their next governor?

But Israel has rejected what is good;
       an enemy will pursue him.
They set up kings without my consent;
they choose princes without my approval.
       With their silver and gold
       they make idols for themselves
       to their own destruction.

Carrie Prejean: 4 of 12 Miss USA Pageant judges were homosexuals

Tuesday, June 16, 2009, 2:40 pm |

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean is backing up her claim that she lost the Miss USA Pageant because of intolerant homosexual judges.

Monday night, Carrie was on Fox News with Greta van Susteren.  In addition to saying she had talked with Donald Trump, Carrie dropped a bombshell by saying that 4 of the 12 telecast judges were openly homosexual:

VAN SUSTEREN: So you think that the reason why you did not win the overall was because of this particular question?

PREJEAN: I that Perez Hilton admitted it. He said that she was front-runner, and he underscored me the lowest. And three of the other judges were gay, also, which I don’t think a lot of people know that.  But I think that definitely was a huge reason why I did not win.

Remember, on April 21 on NBC’s Today Show, Miss USA Pageant judge Claudia Jordan admitted that “a few of the judges were very against her, they were bothered by her answer.” On the same program, Miss USA Pageant owner Donald Trump said that Carrie’s answer “probably did cost her the crown.”

It’s now obvious that homosexuals discriminated against a contestant for her free speech and religious faith. Who’s unfair now? And who’s victimizing whom?

In our 21st-century culture, I have found that homosexual judges and homosexual politicians are inherently unfair to anyone who disagrees with their homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda.

So if you’re ever asked, “Would you vote for ___________, who also happens to be gay?”, you can respond with “I can’t.  Homosexual  elected officials unfairly discriminate against people who believe in traditional marriage, the natural family, natural sex, freedom of speech and freedom of religion. That’s anti-American.”
