What the Incarnation of Christ means to you

Monday, December 24, 2018, 5:27 pm | Randy Thomasson

A couple weeks ago, I had a very busy day of working and driving. So…I went to a fast-food drive-through. When asked the obligatory “How are you?” I answered honestly in order to start a conversation. “I’m celebrating the Incarnation of Jesus Christ,” I said.

Curious, the young man at the window asked, “Is that like reincarnation?” I said, “No, reincarnation is a lie. The Incarnation of Jesus Christ is how God became a Man, born to die for your sins and mine.” We talked more, I gave him dollars, and he gave me “food.”

The Incarnation of Jesus Christ matters because it’s the very foundation of the Gospel, and the whole reason for salvation, Christmas, and Easter.

It all starts with the Virgin Birth, recorded in Matthew and Luke. A teenage girl from Nazareth, named Mary, was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. That meant Jesus’ “dad” was Father God, not Joseph.

The Gospel of John informs us, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” That’s where we get the word “incarnation.” The Incarnation of Christ means that Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity, came to earth to become human.

This supernatural event was necessary in order for Jesus Christ to provide Himself as a substitutionary atonement for our sins. The God-Man was taking the penalty of death upon Himself in the stead of any and every person who places his faith in the shed blood and finished work of Jesus on the Cross. What an amazing, spiritual covenant!

Stop and think about it. Only a Man who was also “God in the flesh” could forgive anyone who confessed and repented of their sins and trusted in Him — including people worldwide who had never met Him and people not yet born. Talk about supernatural power and love!

So rejoice in the Incarnation of Christ. It was the only way for God to wash away the sins of true believers. And it’s ample reason to bask in the wonder of Jesus this Christmas.

JOYous CHRISTmas to you — in your mind, in your heart, and in your soul. And thank you for standing with SaveCalifornia.com, as together, we represent the best values the world has ever known.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.”

Time for California conservatives to come out of the closet

Friday, December 7, 2018, 3:35 pm | Randy Thomasson

It’s spiritually dark in California. Are you motivated to bring out your moral “flashlight”? Because average people desperately need the light that you shine with SaveCalifornia.com.

First, because there’s an aggressive new attack on your moral and family values

Two powerful, wealthy homosexual activists in California are launching a two-prong war to try to scare people of faith into silence.

Homosexual-activist TV producer Ryan Murphy says he’ll spend millions of dollars in his goal to defeat family-values candidates and elect pro-perversity replacements, in California and around the nation. And Tim Cook, the homosexual-activist head of Apple, says he’s increasing his censorship of “those who push hate [and] division” from Apple’s platforms.

Yet I ask, what about those who hate truth, hate facts, and hate pro-family people that leftists call “haters?” And what about liberals who try to “divide out” moral Americans and ostracize them? In their tyrannical attack upon free speech, these homosexual activists are showing their hypocrisy. They want their First Amendment, but want to deny you your American birthright.

These tyrannical attacks remind me of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi government oppressing and persecuting the European Jews. Remember, before being deported to concentration camps where 5-6 million Jews were killed, the Jews living under “The Third Reich” suffered nine years of increasing, systematic elimination of their basic rights. Their free speech, religious rights, political rights, business rights, consumer choices, education choices — all gone.

Similarly, homosexual-transsexual activists want to eliminate your constitutional rights (religious freedom, free speech, freedom to petition and protest) and your pre-constitutional rights (ownership rights, parental rights, etc.) Ultimately, they want to shut you up — so they’ll never hear the loving, rescuing facts that their behavior is unnatural, unhealthy, unbiblical, and destructive, and that they can escape it as thousands have done.

This is why Apple banned me from iTunes. And it’s why, I expect, under Tim Cook’s blatant censorship, you’ll see other pro-family voices banned. Ready to give up your iPhone?

The threatening tyranny of the “LGBT” agenda is one of your big reasons to stand strong with SaveCalifornia.com. As God gives us breath, neither I nor SaveCalifornia.com will stop helping people understand why marriage is only for a man and a woman, why children do best with a married father and mother under the same roof, why there are only two sexes (male and female), and why there’s no such thing as “transgender” since a male has an inherited Y chromosome and a female doesn’t — and this cannot change.

Second, because Democrats in control of state government have an evil agenda

With California’s ballot-box-stuffing “blue wave,” Democrats now control nearly 3/4ths of the State Legislature. And they want to pass some expensive, mind-blowing bills:

1. Free community college: While the first year is already “free,” Democrat politicians want the next year “free” too. Which means you and other taxpayers would be taxed more.

Average people have to realize that it’s not “Democrats are for the poor,” but “Democrats make you poor.” Because to be a Democrat politician these days, you must believe in one foundational agenda item: take from the responsible to give to the irresponsible. This is the Democrats’ lie-based, thieving worldview. So they a) grow big government all the bigger, b) shirk good-government priorities, and c) when it comes to “free” community college, they tell 18- and 19-year-olds that holding a part-time job is “too hard” for them.

2. Government healthcare for illegal aliens: California’s Democrat politicians also want to give “free” healthcare to illegal aliens, which could cost $3 BILLION per year.

With un-American policies like these, I can only conclude that Californians who vote for Democrats are either big-government liberals, dumbed-down college grads, prostituting government workers, or foolish people who trust the TV news and who never think critically. These radical Democrat bills are just a taste of what you and I must publicly expose as wrong and also must explain the good that should be done instead.

3. Gavin Newsom’s big, expensive liberal dreams: As veteran political columnist Dan Walters explains, uber-liberal Democrat Governor-Elect Gavin Newsom’s promised agenda includes these expensive items:

“Guaranteed health care for all. A ‘Marshall Plan’ for affordable housing. A master plan for aging with dignity. A middle-class workforce strategy. A cradle-to-college promise for the next generation. An all-hands approach to ending child poverty.”

Translated, this means that Newsom and the Democrats intend to replace:

1. Parents (with a government “nanny”)
2. Your private business (with socialism regulating job-creators to death)
3. Your own money (with even higher taxes)
4. Your personal merit (with racist/sexual favoritism)
5. Your medical choices (with government-run healthcare)
6. Personal responsibility (with more “welfare” handouts)
7. Citizenship (with equivalency to being an illegal alien)

Lesson: Democrat politicians = government owning you by another name (Communism in disguise).

Do you see why, together, we must expose what the Democrat politicians are doing? This is why you need SaveCalifornia.com and SaveCalifornia.com needs you. Because each time the average person hears about a shocking, new Democrat bill and thinks “ouch,” you and I need to be there to explain how the “hurt” is not helpful, but harmful.

And third, because love for others requires decisive action

What gets you going in life? Or what inspires you to donate to a cause? The usual motivators of life are Self-Interest, Fear, Anger, Love, or Faith. But when dealing with the pain and complexity of politics and culture, your motive must be Love. Yes, our Love for God and people must propel us. For love has staying power in the face of opposition and when suffering for the sake of righteousness.

Want to stand firm? Want someone to help you resist evil and promote what’s right in God’s sight? SaveCalifornia.com is here to help you. Your values will be strongly represented with your gift today.

Is it time to replace the California Republican Party?

Friday, November 30, 2018, 11:12 am | Randy Thomasson

It’s a radical question and I’m “just asking.” But is it time for moral Californians to consider replacing the California Republican Party?

Please understand that I am NOT calling for an immoral political party that is devoid of moral values and socially conservative values. That’s what I’m afraid liberal Republicans like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chad Mayes — and Mayes’ good friend Kristin Olsen — want.

To be clear, I want a political party to belong to that is constitutional and pro-family, and does two new things: 1) expose the chronic problems of California created by the Democrat politicians, 2) articulately explain evidence-based, practical solutions that help responsible Californians and their families.

Over the past few decades, a growing number of California conservatives have already personally left the Republican Party, by registering with the American Independent Party, the Libertarian Party, or as “No Party Preference” or “NPP.”

I’m one of them, since I’m much more constitutional and conservative than the current California Republican Party. You see, many of their elected legislators don’t speak out for, but increasingly vote against, family values.

For example, a growing number of Republicans in Sacramento are voting for (and none are speaking out against) the transsexual, cross-dressing agenda to “advance the cause of [LGBT] equality,” and labeling pro-family opposition as “prejudice and discrimination”:

State Senate: SR 111 text | 6 Republicans voted yes, including Republican Leader Pat Bates

State Assembly: HR 109 text with 5 Republicans coauthoring | 2 Republicans voted yes in committee

The last Republican presidential candidate to win California’s winner-take-all electoral votes was George H.W. Bush in 1988.

The last time that Republicans gained seats in the California State Legislature was 1994, on the coattails of Newt Gingrich’s well-articulated “Contract with America.”

But since then, it’s been downhill for Republicans in Sacramento due to lack of messages that hit home with voters.

Fast forward to 2018. Before Election Day, there were only 25 Republicans in the 80-member State Assembly and 14 Republicans in the 40-member State Senate.

But today, California Republicans are weaker than ever. The November 2018 election handed Republicans losses of 4 Assembly seats, 3 state Senate seats, and 7 U.S. House seats. It’s a new low for the Republican Party in California.

Yes, there was a “blue wave” in California, powered by pro-Democrat unions and bureaucracies, and helped by politically-irrelevant pastors who can’t seem to even remind their congregations to “remember to vote.”

This is a problem that’s motivating me to think deeply, and I hope you’re thinking too.

Not just about “Republican” or “Democrat”

Because, as you know, it’s not just about “Republican” versus “Democrat” seats. It’s about what our elected representatives actually stand for, which determines how they vote, which determines the laws we have to live under. Because values matter.

As a family values leader in California since 1994, I’m grieved about the growing number of Republican officeholders that vote against The Natural Family.

Indeed, several of the California Republicans who were booted out of office in November had voted in favor of the unnatural, unhealthy, unbiblical, tyrannical homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda once or more:

Assemblywoman Catharine Baker of Contra Costa County*
State Senator Andy Vidak of Hanford*
Former assemblywoman Young Kim of Fullerton*
State Senator Janet Nguyen of Garden Grove**
Congressman Jeff Denham of Modesto***
Congressman Steve Knight of Palmdale***

These types of Republicans are a turn-off to principled, pro-family voters.

** Nguyen at least twice voted in favor of transsexuality, to “advance the cause of [LGBT] equality,” and saying pro-family opposition was “prejudice and discrimination”

Republican numbers — and values — are down

In light of the painful reality of Republicans losing seats in California (and abandoning tried-and-true family values), some are calling for a brand-new party to replace the Republican Party in California. I’m open to it as well.

On the one hand, a new conservative party could win on issues without the Republican label. If, for example, it were the “People’s Party” or the “Family Party,” moral or common-sense or conservative voters who’ve been trained to hate “Republican” might just vote for it. I’m thinking about Latinos and blacks who are either Catholic or Protestant churchgoers.

On the other hand, given the likely excesses of Gavin Newsom and the 2/3rds majority Democrats, could the California Republican Party return with strength in 2020? It would require aggressive voter registration efforts and a strong, articulate message from both the Republican Party and from individual Republican candidates.

But the question about the California Republican Party’s viability is a valid one. Before the election, California voter registration numbers had Democrats at 44%, Republicans at 25%, and “No Party Preference” at 27%.

Can Republicans get better and stronger and win in 2020? Or it is time to tip over the game board and “get a new game with a new name”? As I’ve written earlier, California is in a dynamic, the Democrat-union grip can indeed weaken, and liberal policies are ripe for taking down.

Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
