If, like me, you’re grieving about the Democrats’ and RINOs’ attack upon God’s beautiful design of marriage and family, there’s hope that H.R. 8404 and more will be overturned.
Thank you if you called Republican representatives in response to SaveCalifornia.com’s alerts. We had to try, because Republicans were receiving pro-family “heat” in other states. And indeed, despite voting anti-family this summer when H.R. 8404 first passed the U.S. House of Representatives, several of these Republicans did NOT vote for it today.
First, the bad news: Among California’s 11 Republican U.S. representatives, 5 are either secret sexual anarchists or they’re so afraid of “LGBTQIA+” activists, they’ve joined them.
Demonstrating they are truly tone-deaf to pro-family citizens’ telephone calls, voting for the tyrannical, sexual anarchy bill H.R. 8404 TWICE (both December 8 and July 19) are “Republicans” Darrell Issa, Jay Obernolte, Ken Calvert, Mike Garcia, and David Valadao.
Like the New Communist Democrats, these “Republicans” are now confirmed domestic enemies of real marriage, children’s innocence, state’s rights, and constitutional religious freedom. They don’t care that H.R. 8404 forces “child bride” and “transgender” marriages upon all 50 states. See the Dec. 8, 2022 roll-call vote
But now, the good news: You can bet this will be challenged and go to the U.S. Supreme Court, where there’s actually a good chance to overturn H.R. 8404 because it violates 3 things the Constitution protects: religious freedom, states’ rights, and marriage jurisdiction.
As the constitutional attorneys at Liberty Counsel explain: “Although the House passed the ‘Respect for Marriage Act’ with a 258-169 vote that included 39 House Republicans, this action is a strategic blunder by advocates of same-sex marriage. Rather than a victory, the ‘Respect for Marriage Act’ will make easier the argument to overturn the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2015 5-4 opinion in Obergefell v. Hodges regarding same-sex marriage.”
Patience is needed as plaintiffs are either found or volunteer. As a case or cases wind through the federal courts, perseverance is especially required by religious small business owners. If you have a religious faith and are in the wedding business, please contact Liberty Counsel to explore joining a pro-bono lawsuit.
Bottom line, the House Democrats are against what’s right in God’s sight, the House Republicans hardly fought to protect us, yet the written Constitution still stands, and there might be 5 or even 6 Supreme Court justices willing to defend it. So, please stay in the battle!
“Put simply, no adult has a right to someone else’s child or another adult’s reproductive capacity. If they did, it would create obligations on the part of individuals and governments to supply sperm, eggs, and wombs to hopeful parents. But every child has a right to love and support from the mother and father who created him. … The prevailing wisdom today — rarely stated in explicit terms — is that children should be willing to sacrifice for our desires. This is exactly what happens when a child is deprived of maternal or paternal love so that adults can build the families of their dreams. Our national priority should be promoting a culture where men and women commit to one another and the families they build together, not creating fatherless (or motherless) children for the sake of adult fulfillment.” Misnamed ‘Respect For Marriage Act’ Doesn’t Just Gut Religious Liberties, It Puts Selfish Adult Wants Over Kids’ Needs, The Federalist, Dec. 8, 2022

Here’s the latest analysis from the pro-family legal experts at Liberty Counsel:
Same-Sex Marriage. Child Bride Marriages. No Religious Freedom.
ALL will be protected if HR 8404 as amended passes the House.
On Monday, the Senate approved an amended version of HR 8404. The amendment claims to protect religious freedom but, in fact, does nothing to protect Christians and other faithful religious adherents.
HR 8404 forces every state to accept, honor and obey the crazy “marriage” laws of any other state.
Beyond same-sex marriage, HR 8404 empowers a state to force its marriage laws upon other states and territories. A handful of states like California have no minimum age for marriage, resulting in the terrible abuse often referred to as “child bride marriage.” These marriages are often forced upon young minors who were sexually abused or forced into such relationships.
The bill has essentially no religious liberty protections. The fact that three religious liberty amendments were rejected by the Senate (proposed by Sens. Lee, Lankford and Rubio) in favor of the Baldwin-Collins amendment illustrates the open disdain the bill presents to religious freedom.
Targeting people of faith to silence them is part of the LGBTQ agenda. We continue to defend former Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis, who was specifically targeted because of her Christian faith and support of marriage between a man and a woman.
Federalizing same-sex marriage will increase this intentional targeting of religious adherents.
Moreover, HR 8404 goes far beyond same-sex marriage. It empowers one state to impose its “marriage” laws on other states, and this includes the infamous “child bride marriage” laws of California.
A religious freedom amendment does not solve the ills of HR 8404. The bill is still rotten to its core. Who could in good faith condone a 50-year-old man marrying a 10-year-old child? That is legal right now in California, and if HR 8404 passes, pedophile marriages like this will be forced on your state as well.
Because HR 8404 changes federal policy, government edicts on marriage, schools and families WILL change, and all of America will be forced in one way or another to bow to the never-ending LGBTQ political agenda.
Keep in mind, the Q in LGBTQ stands for “queer,” aka “paraphilia,” a condition described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) covering about 500 sexual perversions, including necrophilia, bestiality and even “minor attracted persons” (pedophilia).

What does Thanksgiving really mean? When you turn the word around, it reads, “giving thanks.” That’s a clue, because when we thank, we thank persons, don’t we?
In the Bible, thanksgiving means Giving Thanks to God, for creating and sustaining us:
Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100: 3-5
Yet many people find it difficult to be genuinely thankful to Creator God.
For some, it’s because they don’t thank Him daily. Others lack a Biblical worldview. Still others believe in thanking God, but focus more on losses, producing a sad or angry countenance.
Yet God, who wants a voluntary-love relationship with us, gave people the choice to worship Him or not, to obey or disobey, to be blessed or cursed.
By this standard, we know the difference between good and evil; that people’s sins create problems in this world; and that the God of the Bible, Who sustains us all, is good all the time.
“Thank-you therapy” pays off. When we look into the Word of God and look up, we can have thankful hearts, every day.
Want to inspire thankful hearts at your Thanksgiving table? Ask everyone to say what they thank God for — not thanking anyone or anything else — but specifically thanking God.
You’ll be surprised how, for many, thanking God is a brand-new thought — which might just be the best thought they ever had.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
